Today Is the Day is an American noise rock/experimental metal band from Nashville, Tennessee. They have a diverse sound that includes influences from alternative rock, grindcore, avant-garde music and progressive rock among other genres. Most of the band's recordings are very experimental, displaying an extensive use of dissonance and sampling as well as psychedelic features. Lyrical themes include violence, altered states of consciousness, personal struggles, depression, warfare, drug abuse and mental problems such as psychosis and paranoia.
Biography
The band was founded by Steve Austin and Brad Elrod in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1990s. The band released its debut EP, entitled How to Win Friends and Influence People, in 1992. This self-financed release garnered the attention of Amphetamine Reptile Records (AmRep) who signed the band (at this time consisting of Austin on vocals and guitar, Brad Elrod on drums, and Mike Herrell on bass guitar) in February 1993. The full-length Supernova was released later that year.
Today Is the Day is an EP by Yo La Tengo, released in 2003 on Matador Records. The title track is a rock version of a song from the album Summer Sun.
The EP features a cover of the song “Needle of Death” by Bert Jansch. The album artwork imitates the artwork for Ornette Coleman’s Something Else!!!!.

Today Is the Day is the fourth studio album from contemporary Christian musician Lincoln Brewster. It was released on September 23, 2008 and debuted at No. 56 on the Billboard 200. Lincoln has embedded many personal connections into the audio on this record, the foremost of which is his son's unborn heartbeat, setting the tempo in the first seconds of "The Power of Your Name".
Release
The song "Today is the Day" marked the first all-new studio single released by Brewster since 2002, in his album Amazed. Christianity Today's Russ Breimeier attributed this six-year hiatus in new material to Brewster's new family and to his responsibilities as Worship Arts pastor at Bayside Church nearby Sacramento, California. The song's lyrics were written by Paul Baloche, combining the themes of Bible verses Matthew 6 and Psalm 118. The second track, "Everywhere I Go", was written with Glenn Packiam, a member of Desperation Band.

Day6 (Hangul: 데이식스, stylized DAY6) is a South Korean rock band formed by JYP Entertainment. The group consists of six members: Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Junhyeok, Wonpil, and Dowoon. The group debuted with a mini album, The Day, on September 7, 2015.
History
Pre-debut: K-pop Star, 5LIVE
In 2010, Young K was active under the name Brian Kang as part of a three-member group in Toronto, Canada. Along with members Terry He and Don Lee, he performed at several local stages and has several covers up on Terry He's channel. Along with Don Lee, Young K was contacted by JYP and then auditioned, and then accepted to be trainees. Don Lee later left JYP to pursue medical studies.
In 2012, Jae competed on the first season of SBS K-pop Star. Though he finished in sixth place in the competition overall, he later signed an exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment alongside the season's winner, Park Ji-min, and third-place finisher, Baek A-yeon.
JYP Entertainment initially announced the group as a five-member group called 5LIVE, composed of Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Junhyeok, and Wonpil. The group began promotions as 5LIVE in 2014, appearing on the 4th episode of Mnet's reality-survival program Who is Next: WIN and releasing a song titled "Lovely Girl" for the Pretty Man OST. However, the band came to dislike this name as many fans compared their name with that of American band Maroon 5.
The Day is the second studio album by Red Dirt artist Reckless Kelly, and their last with Valley Records, as high-profile label Sugar Hill Records would pick them up for their next album.
