Now Is the Time is the second studio album by Alanis Morissette, released only in Canada in August 1992 (see 1992 in music). It was the final album for MCA Records Canada. Morissette recorded the album with Leslie Howe, who produced her debut album, Alanis (1991).

Legacy

In 1995 Morissette released her Grammy winning-international acclaimed debut album Jagged Little Pill through U.S. label Maverick Records. Executives at Maverick persuaded MCA Records to withdraw all copies of Alanis and Now Is the Time from circulation, and they did not mention either album in the promotional material for Jagged Little Pill. According to Spin magazine, Morissette's transformation from "the Debbie Gibson of Canada" to an alternative rock musician made some Canadians skeptical. As with Alanis, Now Is the Time is no longer in print. Morissette's contract with MCA expired after the release of the album, and she said "It was kind of a blessing that it was over, because I wanted to start out with a clean slate, not only personally but career-wise, too."Time magazine called the album "uninspired", and the song "Rain" "wistful", while The Kansas City Star labelled it "a lightweight faux Madonna album".

Now is the Time is the sixth album by Japanese band Polysics. It is the first album of new material to be released in Japan, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. Several tracks on the album were produced by Andy Gill of the band Gang of Four. The Japanese, US, and UK releases all have different track lists, each with exclusive tracks.

The songs "Coelakanth Is Android", "Baby BIAS" and "I My Me Mine" were released as singles in Japan.

N.O.W Is the Time is a best of compilation from Nightmares on Wax, released to celebrate his 25-year career as the longest serving artist on Warp Records. Two versions of the record will be released in June 2014, a standard edition comprising two discs 'Nightmares by Day' and 'Nightmares by Night' consisting of 28 of his most popular tracks. The Crystal Method is an American electronic music and keyboardist duo formed in Las Vegas, Nevada by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland in the early 1990s. The Crystal Method's music has appeared in numerous TV shows, films, video games, and advertisements. Their best-selling album, Vegas, was certified platinum in 2007.

Biography

The Crystal Method is made up of two members, Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland. Before The Crystal Method was formed, Ken and Scott started working on music while working at a grocery store and while Ken was a local DJ in Las Vegas as well as the college radio program director at UNLV. Ken taught Scott how to DJ, and when Ken moved to L.A. to work for a producer, Scott took over his job DJing at the local club. Scott would follow Ken out to L.A., and they formed The Crystal Method in 1993.

Early days (1993–1995)

By the early '90s, both Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland had moved from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. Ken and Scott bought a house together, in Glendale, California, which had a small underground shelter beneath the front lawn. Originally intending to turn the shelter into a studio, it proved to be an unrealistic idea and the duo set up a studio in their house which was located under a Los Angeles overpass. They subsequently named their studio The Bomb Shelter. They were interviewed on the front lawn of the house in the documentary Better Living Through Circuitry.

Now Is the Time is a jazz album released by Jeff Lorber Fusion. The album was released in 2010 on Heads Up Records and was produced by Jeff Lorber, Bobby Colomby, and Jimmy Haslip. It was nominated for the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.

Overview

Now Is the Time is the first Jeff Lorber album billed as a Jeff Lorber Fusion release since 1981's Galaxian.

We all had a vision of what we wanted this record to be. We wanted a return to the sound of the Jeff Lorber Fusion, but informed by everything I’ve learned since then. This record is a clear statement. It represents a real musical shift toward something a little jazzier, and a little more exciting. The title has a very positive thrust to it, and it evokes a certain sense of being serious and taking charge.

This version of The Fusion includes Lorber on Fender Rhodes electric piano, Hammond B-3 organ, and acoustic piano with bassist Jimmy Haslip, saxophonist Eric Marienthal, guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr., trumpeter Randy Brecker, and drummers Vinnie Colaiuta and Dave Weckl. The album also features the Blood, Sweat & Tears horn section, Tom Timko, Steve Jankowski, Jens Wendelboe, and Teddy Mulet, on two tracks, "Pixel" and "Sumatra" and vocalist IreneB on four tracks, "Water Sign", "Rain Dance/Wanna Fly", "Sugar Free", and "Curtains/Before We Go".
