Mark Smith (born 18 August 1981) is an English professional rugby league footballer who has just been signed by Swinton after captaining Widnes in National League One. Primarily a hooker, he previously played in Super League for the Wigan, with whom he won the 2002 Challenge Cup. Smith played for the Wigan Warriors from the interchange bench in the 2003 Super League Grand Final which was lost to the Bradford Bulls. Smith has been captain of the Widnes side since the retirement of Terry O'Connor in 2006. He has on very rare occasion spent time during his career playing at loose forward.
Mark Smith (c. 1950 – 2011 ) was a pioneer in radio-controlled (R/C) model aviation. The son of Rod Smith, an early inventor of R/C equipment, Mark began building hand-launch gliders in the 6th or 7th grade. In his teens he followed his father's footsteps into R/C gliders. He later went on to designing R/C gliders like his 100-inch-wingspan Windfree along with the 72-inch-wingspan Wanderer which were the best-sellers for decades. In the early 1970s he built radio-controlled seagulls for the 1972 movie Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
Mark Storey Smith (born New York) is an American journalist, serving as White House Correspondent for the Associated Press. He has been covering presidents since Jimmy Carter and has been present at multiple events throughout history, notably the Falklands War, Prince Charles' and Princess Diana's wedding, the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, and numerous presidential campaigns and inaugurations.
He served as President of the White House Correspondent's Association in 2005, and most notably, hired Stephen Colbert as the evening's guest comedian. Colbert's performance was praised by some but attacked by many as having crossed the line. He was mentioned in Colbert's book, I am America (And So Can You!). Also during his presidency, Smith oversaw the renovations of the White House Press Corps facilities, including the White House Press Briefing Office.
In September 2011, he was attacked for his transcription of President Obama's speech at a Congressional Black Caucus awards dinner by some critics who said leaving off the "g" in the words "complaining," "grumbling" and "crying" was racist. Smith said he accurately reflected Obama's choice to speak this way to a black audience.
Mark Smith (born 30 September 1969) is an English actor and body builder who starred as 'Rhino' on the popular ITV show, Gladiators.
Smith was born in Acton, London. Smith's fame began in 1995 when he joined TV's Gladiators as 'Rhino, Bit of trivia Rhino is the only Gladiator in the World who came to the show with his own nickname which was given to him after winning many Bodybuilding titles. He then starred as 'Leo' in the Nickelodeon (UK & Ireland) show Renford Rejects and also guest starred as 'Johnson' in the hit BBC soap EastEnders. He has also appeared In Trial & Retribution for Lynda LaPlante, Robin Hood as the role of Karim. Then Mark moved with his family to LA and has built his resume with projects including Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Rollin' with the Nines and an appearance as 'Shadow Warrior' in the film Batman Begins. Recently just finished five episodes on a Michael Bay production called The Last Ship, as IAN, also NCISLA as the role of Trevor. Also CREED which Mark is extremely passionate about the 'Rocky' story. Mark also appeared in Argo directed by Ben Affleck, Frozen Ground shot in Alaska starring Nicolas Cage and John Cusack, and most recently No Good Deed shot in Atlanta with fellow Brits, actor Idris Elba and director Sam Miller. The biggest news for the start of 2016 is he is the voice of Officer McHorn; a rhinoceros police officer in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 55th feature, Zootopia.
