Mark Smith (c. 1950 – 2011 ) was a pioneer in radio-controlled (R/C) model aviation. The son of Rod Smith, an early inventor of R/C equipment, Mark began building hand-launch gliders in the 6th or 7th grade. In his teens he followed his father's footsteps into R/C gliders. He later went on to designing R/C gliders like his 100-inch-wingspan Windfree along with the 72-inch-wingspan Wanderer which were the best-sellers for decades. In the early 1970s he built radio-controlled seagulls for the 1972 movie Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
Mark Storey Smith (born New York) is an American journalist, serving as White House Correspondent for the Associated Press. He has been covering presidents since Jimmy Carter and has been present at multiple events throughout history, notably the Falklands War, Prince Charles' and Princess Diana's wedding, the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, and numerous presidential campaigns and inaugurations.
He served as President of the White House Correspondent's Association in 2005, and most notably, hired Stephen Colbert as the evening's guest comedian. Colbert's performance was praised by some but attacked by many as having crossed the line. He was mentioned in Colbert's book, I am America (And So Can You!). Also during his presidency, Smith oversaw the renovations of the White House Press Corps facilities, including the White House Press Briefing Office.
In September 2011, he was attacked for his transcription of President Obama's speech at a Congressional Black Caucus awards dinner by some critics who said leaving off the "g" in the words "complaining," "grumbling" and "crying" was racist. Smith said he accurately reflected Obama's choice to speak this way to a black audience.
Mark Smith (born 18 August 1981) is an English professional rugby league footballer who has just been signed by Swinton after captaining Widnes in National League One. Smith has been captain of the Widnes side since the retirement of Terry O'Connor in 2006. He has on very rare occasion spent time during his career playing at loose forward.
(Hess/Lesperance)
I should apologize
For my new compromise
A temporary disease
Another dumb mistake
To think that you would change
Now I'm admitting defeat
Well I knew what this would mean
But still I let myself get back into it
It's time to turn around
If your not careful
She'll rip your heart out
And shove it in your mouth
Now I took all the blame
Off my little brain
And said "the devil made me"
Put the turpentine
In her carafe of wine
