Julissa Bermúdez (born September 28, 1983) is a Dominican American television personality, actress, dancer, model and singer. She is best known for being a co-host on BET's most popular music video countdown show 106 & Park from 2005 until 2006 and former host of Jersey Shore: After Hours and related Jersey Shore specials. She co-stars alongside recording artist and actress Adrienne Bailon in their own reality series, Empire Girls: Julissa and Adrienne which airs on the Style network.

Early life

Bermudez was born in the Dominican Republic but raised in Elmhurst, Queens, New York.

Career

While attending New York's Talent Unlimited High School as a theatre major, Bermudez started auditioning and modeling. She got her first big break with a Coca-Cola commercial, and she was one of the six finalists who competed to represent singer Jennifer Lopez's sweetface fashion line.

Julissa (born Julia Isabel de Llano Macedo on April 8, 1944 in Mexico City, D.F., Mexico) is a Mexican actress, producer and singer. She is the daughter of radio and television personality Don Luis de Llano Palmer and actress Rita Macedo. Her children are: Benny Ibarra (a singer, musician, producer and actor) and Alejandro Ibarra (actor and singer); and her brother is a Televisa staff producer, Luis de Llano Macedo.

At age 14, Julissa began a singing career in a rock group called The Spitfires; it was formed by her brother, Luis. She won 2nd place in a radio competition before she was signed to a contract by CBS and she recorded rock albums from 1961-1964.

Theatre

She started to act and then started a career where she is a leading theatre producer in Mexico bringing in to the country well-known Broadway productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Pippin.

She was a cast member of the 1975 Mexico production of The Rocky Horror Show; a young Aida Pierce was a chorus member.

Julissa Arce Rivera (born January 13, 1976) commonly known simply as Julissa, is a Puerto Rican Christian singer.

Biography

Julissa was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Puerto Rican parents. She was the oldest of four siblings. Julissa debuted as a singer when she was twelve, with the choir of her church. At age 16, she started singing professionally with a local group called Generación Escogida. With them, she recorded several albums. During recordings, she met musician, songwriter, and producer Mike Rivera. They married on November 29, 1997 and moved to Dorado, Puerto Rico. Julissa and Mike have three children: John Michael, Alyrah, and Jayden.

Under her own label, Firmeza Music, Julissa releases her first solo album titled Regresará Por Mí in 1998. The album was produced, arranged, and recorded by her husband, Mike. The album received a Tu Música Award for Best Christian Album, and a Tito Lara Award for Album of the Year. It was also nominated for two Viva Awards in Guatemala for International Album of the Year and International Singer of the Year. Julissa then toured Latin America with pastor Yiye Avila as part of his crusade.
