James Lansdale Hodson (1891-1956) was a British novelist, scriptwriter and journalist. He was a war correspondent and northern editor of the Daily Mail.
Born in Bury, Lancashire in 1891, Hodson worked as a war correspondent during World War II, and he wrote a war diary that was published by Victor Gollancz as a series of 7 books; Through the Dark Night, Towards the Morning, Before Daybreak, 'War in the Sun, Home Front, And Yet I like America and The Sea and the Land. He also wrote the official British film Desert Victory. He toured the United States from 1943-4, writing And Yet I Like America on his return. His 1952 novel Morning Star had as its theme the freedom of the press in England. His novel Return To The Wood (1955) became a play (by John Wilson) and then a film (1964, directed by Joseph Losey and starring Dirk Bogarde), both called King & Country.
He died aged 65 on 28 August 1956 at Lewisham Hospital.

Isabella Marie "Bella" Swan (later Bella Cullen) is the fictional protagonist of the Twilight series, written by Stephenie Meyer. The Twilight series, consisting of the novels Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn, is primarily narrated from Bella's point-of-view.
In Twilight, Bella moves to her father's home in Forks, Washington, meets the mysterious Cullen family, and falls in love with Edward Cullen. However, she soon discovers that the family is a coven of vampires. Bella expresses a desire to become a vampire herself, against Edward's wishes. In the second novel, New Moon, Edward and the other Cullens leave Forks in an effort to keep Bella safe from the vampire world. Jacob Black, a member of the Quileute tribe who is also a shape shifter taking a wolf form, comforts the distraught and severely depressed Bella. She comes to care deeply for Jacob, though less than she loves Edward. In Eclipse, Bella becomes engaged to Edward, and they marry in Breaking Dawn. Edward then transforms Bella into a vampire after she nearly dies giving birth to their daughter, Renesmee. Bella has the ability to shield her mind (from mind reading, attacks, etc.), an ability she's had from the beginning. But once she is transformed into a vampire, her ability is enhanced to where she can also expand her shield to protect others from mind control.

Hodson is an unspoilt hamlet in a small valley, just south of Swindon, Wiltshire, England and the M4 motorway, and near a junction with the Chiseldon to Wroughton main road. It has a popular traditional English public house called the Calley Arms.
North of the village is Burderop Wood, c.120 acres (49 ha), designated a 'Biological Site of Special Scientific Interest' in 1971 due to the wet Ash-maple and acid Pedunculate oak-Hazel-Ash woodland.
Part of the Swindon, Marlborough and Andover Railway ran close to the north part of the village (grid squares E2-F2). The line was no longer used after March 1964 and part of the line through Burderop Wood was used as the route of the M4 motorway west of junction 15 in the 1970s.
