Delta Lea Goodrem (born 9 November 1984) is an Australian singer-songwriter and actress. Born and raised in Sydney, New South Wales, she enrolled in dancing, acting, singing and piano classes at a young age. She began her career as a child actress, starring in various television shows and rose to prominence in 2002 in the Australian soap opera Neighbours as Nina Tucker.
Venturing into the music industry, Goodrem signed to Sony Music at the age of 15 and released her multi-platinum album Innocent Eyes (2003), which topped the Australian Albums Chart and reached number two on the UK Albums Chart. It became one of the highest-selling albums in Australian history, with over 4 million copies sold worldwide and all five of its singles; "Born to Try", "Lost Without You", "Innocent Eyes", "Not Me, Not I", and "Predictable" reaching number one in Australia and the first three reaching the top ten in the UK. This gave her the record for becoming the first ever artist to have five number one singles from a debut album. As of the early 2010s, Goodrem holds the Australian record for the highest-selling album of the last decade (Innocent Eyes) and the most number one singles from a debut album.
A knockout (KO or K.O.) is a fight-ending, winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, mixed martial arts, karate, some forms of taekwondo and other sports involving striking. A full knockout is considered any legal strike or combination thereof that renders an opponent unable to continue fighting.
The term is often associated with a sudden traumatic loss of consciousness caused by a physical blow. Single powerful blows to the head (particularly the jawline and temple) can produce a cerebral concussion or a carotid sinus reflex with syncope and cause a sudden, dramatic KO. Body blows, particularly the liver punch, can cause progressive, debilitating pain that can also result in a KO.
In boxing, kickboxing, etc. a knockout is usually awarded when one participant falls to the canvas and is unable to rise to their feet within a specified period of time, typically because of exhaustion, pain, disorientation, or unconsciousness. For example, if a boxer is knocked down and is unable to continue the fight within a ten-second count, they are counted as having been knocked out and their opponent is awarded the KO victory.
"Knocked Out" is a 1988 pop/R&B song by American singer Paula Abdul. It was the first song Abdul recorded and released on May 4, 1988 from her debut album Forever Your Girl. It was written by Babyface, L.A. Reid and Daryl Simmons and produced in 1987 by the former two.

The song was originally included on a Virgin Records sampler for the launch of Virgin Records America. In the spring of 1988 it was released as a single to test Abdul's commercial appeal. "Knocked Out" proved to be very successful for a low budget single: it became a Top 10 R&B hit.
In the UK, "Knocked Out" was released three times. It was originally Abdul's first single, and charted on September 24, 1988, peaking at a lowly #98. Following the success of "Straight Up" and its follow-up "Forever Your Girl", "Knocked Out" was reissued and peaked at #41 on 19 August 1989, just missing out on the all-important Top 40. Finally, after the huge success of "Opposites Attract" in 1990, the single was extensively reworked by Shep Pettibone and it finally cracked the UK Top 30, peaking at #21 on the 28th July 1990.
