Frank Miller (born January 27, 1957) is an American writer, artist, and film director best known for his dark comic book stories and graphic novels such as Ronin, Daredevil: Born Again, The Dark Knight Returns, Sin City and 300. He also directed the film version of The Spirit, shared directing duties with Robert Rodriguez on Sin City and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and produced the film 300. His film Sin City earned a Palme d'Or nomination, and he has received every major comic book industry award. In 2015, Miller was inducted into the Eisner Awards Comic Book Hall of Fame.

He created the comic book characters Elektra for Marvel Comics' Daredevil series, and the future version of the Robin character, Carrie Kelly, for DC Comics.

Miller is noted for combining film noir and manga influences in his comic art creations. “I realised when I started Sin City that I found American and English comics be too wordy, too constipated, and Japanese comics to be too empty. So I was attempting to do a hybrid”.

Frank Lee Miller (May 13, 1886, Allegan, Michigan – 19 February 1974, Allegan, Michigan), a.k.a. "Bullet", was 27 years old when he entered the professional baseball scene on July 12, 1913, with the Chicago White Sox.

Miller pitched only one game in the 1913 season, taking a loss. He returned to the Majors with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1916, where he pitched an average of 30 games a year through the 1919 season.

He again left the scene for the 1920-21 seasons, but returned to the field again in 1922, this time wearing the uniform of the Boston Braves.

He played his last major league game 30 July 1923.

He died 19 February 1974, aged 87, in his hometown, Allegan, Michigan and was interred in Rowe Cemetery, Cheshire Township, Allegan County, Michigan.

With Terry Gilkyson and Richard Dehr, he wrote the song "Marianne." As a group called The Easy Riders, Dehr and Miller accompanied Gilkyson on the best-selling recording of the song in 1956.
