Ekta Kapoor is an Indian TV and film producer. She is the Joint Managing Director and Creative Director of Balaji Telefilms, her production company.

Kapoor is the daughter of actor Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor. Her younger brother Tusshar Kapoor is also a Bollywood actor. She did her schooling at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim and attended college at Mithibai College. She has produced numerous soap opera, television series and movies. Her soap operas include Hum Paanch, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kkavyanjali , Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Kahiin to Hoga, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Kasamh Se, Kkusum, Kutumb, Bandini, Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Tere Liye, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Parichay—Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka, Gumrah – End Of Innocence, Kya Hua Tera Vaada, Pavitra Rishta, Bade Acche Lagte Hain , Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do and many others. She is currently producing, Jodha Akbar, Pavitra Bandhan, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar, Kalash-Ek Vishwas, Kumkum Bhagya and Ye Hai Mohabbatein and Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan. Ekta Kapoor has currently come up with a show 'Naagin' . She has also launched her fashion series with EK lebel.

Entertainment

The Chhimba are a Sikh clan. Their traditional occupation in the Samba district of India was dying and hand-printing calico fabric. It was probably some of these people who moved to areas of Himachal Pradesh, where they created a somewhat different style of printing cloth that was much favoured by the Gaddi people of the region.
