Wasseypur
Wasseypur is a small town in the state of Jharkhand in India. Wasseypur was once in Bengal, then in Bihar and is now in Jharkhand.
Wasseypur is about 165 km from state capital Ranchi. Naya Bazaar, Wasseypur is an area with a total population of around 200,000, divided in five municipal wards. Most of the people in this area work in administrative capacities.
History
The names of rival dons Sabir Alam and Fahim Khan, lords of two mafia families are associated with Wasseypur. Though out on bail after spending eight years in jail, Sabir Alam rarely stays at home due to the threat to his life. Fahim Khan, who is still alive and in the Hazaribagh jail currently,is son of Shafiq Khan,who had a rivalry with Surya Dev Singh. The foundation of Wasseypur was laid by the two brothers - late M A Wassey Sahab and M A Jabbar Sahab in 1955-56.

The place is the central plot of the Bollywood film such as:
Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1 (2012)
Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2 (2012).
However, the local people claim that the Gangs of Wasseypur movie wrongly portrays this place and in reality there is peace there.
