"Go Away Little Girl" is a popular song written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. It was first recorded by Bobby Vee for Liberty Records on March 28, 1962. The lyrics consist of a young man asking a young woman to stay away from him, so that he will not be tempted to betray his steady girlfriend by kissing her. The song is notable for making the American Top 20 three times: for Steve Lawrence in 1962 (US #1), for The Happenings in 1966 (US #12), and for Donny Osmond in 1971 (US #1). It is also the first song, and one of only nine, to reach US #1 by two different artists.

In late 1962, Steve Lawrence released the second recording of this song (Bobby Vee recorded it first in March 1962). The single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1963 and remained in the top position for two weeks. This recording also spent six weeks atop the U.S. Easy Listening chart. It also went to number 1 on the New Zealand Lever chart and number 18 in Canada.

"Go Away" (Korean 고어웨이) is a Korean song by South Korean girl group 2NE1's album To Anyone. The song was produced and written by YG Entertainment producer Teddy Park. The song was released as the fifth single from the album. The music video was released on September 10, 2010. It was first performed on The Music Trend. The song hit number one in South Korea on the weekly charts and the monthly chart for September 2010.

The song was re-released in Japanese version in November 16, 2011 as the group's debut single from first studio album Collection, following their EP Nolza.

Background

The song was produced by YG Entertainment, the lead producer for 2NE1's previous extended play 2NE1. The song was part of the triple "title tracks," or lead promotional singles, for To Anyone alongside "Clap Your Hands" and "Can't Nobody". Before the release of the album, teasers were released for the song. On September 9, 2010, the album released which signaled the start of the new promotions. The music video was released one day later, after the video for "Clap Your Hands" but before "Can't Nobody". The song was promoted until ceasing for the next promotional single, "It Hurts (Slow)".

"Little Girl" (リトルガール, Ritoru Gāru) is Japanese singer-songwriter miwa's second major label single, released on June 23, 2010. The B-side "Soba ni Itai Kara" is a re-recording of miwa's second independently released single from 2008.

Writing and inspiration

The song is an upbeat pop-rock song. The lyrics of the song are self-referential, both to miwa as the songwriter and the song being a love song. miwa describes herself as a "little girl" who writes songs, plays her guitar and is sick of listening to love songs. The rest of the lyrics deal with expressing feelings to an "unusual boy" in a love song, and uses unusual metaphors to with maths/science (such as "you don't need equations in love," describing the boy as "flowing with minus ions" and saying that the boy is "the only one to receive my special frequency").

"Little Girl" was written during the summer holiday of her first year of university, as a potential candidate for her debut single. She wanted "make a life-sized song they was very much her." She did not want to write a love song that applied to everyone, but one that was specific to just a certain two people.
