Babar Ali is a Pakistani film and television actor. He was born on June 30, 1975 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

Career

Babar Ali began his career on small screen. He played character of the young Muslim Arab soldier "Mohammad Bin Qasim" in PTV historical costume drama "Labbaik". Both Labbaik and Babar Ali became huge hits of that time. he followed it up with another historical drama "Babar" where he played Humayon, son of the mughal emperor Babar.

Babar's immediate success opened the doors of films to him. First of those was 'Jeeva', directed by Syed Noor. He went on to appear in other films such as: Love 95, Jo Dargaya Wo Margaya, Munda Bigra Jaye, Chor Machaye Shor, Khoey Ho Tum Kahan, Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa and Larki Punjaban. He also Starred in the 2002 PTV Drama Serial Landa Bazar (TV series).

Babar Ali is an Indian student and teacher from Murshidabad in West Bengal. He was called the "youngest headmaster in the world" by BBC in October 2009, at the age of sixteen.

Babar Ali is still a student himself, enrolled at the government-run Cossimbazar Raj Govinda Sundari High school in Beldanga, West Bengal. In the afternoons, starting at 4:00 p.m., he in turn teaches students in a school he founded in his parents´ back yard in Murshidabad. He had begun teaching at nine years of age, mostly as a game, and then decided to continue teaching other children at a larger scale.

Currently (October 2009), the school continues to be run as an outdoor school and counts a total of ten teachers including Babar Ali himself, all of them students at school or college who volunteer to teach at the school. There are 800 children learning at the school, starting from four or five years of age. That the school is tuition-free makes it affordable for the poor in this economically deprived area, so that the school has been recognised to have helped increase literacy rates in the area. In Murshidabad there had been no governmental or private schools. Pupils come from nearby villages and walk up to four kilometres in order to attend their lessons.

Cho Yong-Jin (Korean: 조용진), famously known as Ali (stylized as ALi), is a South Korean singer-songwriter famous for her work on Korean pop music in the early twenty-first century. Her stage name is a motif from Muhammad Ali. This is so that it can be engraved easily by the masses. Following her debut in 2009, she is primarily known for her strong vocals and her time as a contestant on the KBS program Immortal Songs 2.

Career

Following her debut in 2009, she had already gained fame for her appearances on music shows, most notably Immortal Songs 2 on KBS2. She also worked as a professor in applied musical arts at the Seoul Technical Arts College.

ALi released her first album SOULri in December 2011 which was strangely two years after her official debut. One released track, "Na Young", garnered immediate controversy as its lyrics referenced a case of sexual assault that had been a very public case in South Korea, with many detractors criticizing the song to be insensitive to its subject. ALi would later address this controversy by revealing that she herself was a survivor of sexual assault.
