Amazing Race : la plus grande course autour du monde ! (English: Amazing Race: the biggest race around the world!) is a French version of the American reality show The Amazing Race. Hosted by Alexandre Delpérier, it features nine teams of two with a pre-existing relationship, in a race around the world to win €50,000.

The show was produced by Shine France in association with ABC Studios, distributed by The Walt Disney Company France and broadcast on D8.

D8 began airing the season on Monday 22 October 2012, and D17 on Tuesday 23 October 2012, both at 8:50pm CEST (UST+2).

The finale aired on 24 December 2012 with cyber-friends, Anthony Martinage & Sonja Sacha, winning the race.

Production

Development and filming

On 23 March 2012, it was announced that Canal+ had acquired the format for a French version of the show. Filming started on 30 June 2012 in Paris. During the race, the teams travelled to seven countries for 24 days, spanning over 50,000 km (31,000 miles) in five continents, finishing on 23 July at the Stade de France. This season visited the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Japan, the United States (making it the first foreign version of the show to visit this country), Brazil and South Africa. Among the highlights are a leg in the street of Bangkok, an African safari, an excursion to Iguazu Falls and the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. Teams also visited Tokyo, Dubai, Los Angeles, Hawaii and Cape Town.

The Amazing Race 10 is the tenth installment of the reality television show The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race 10 features twelve teams of two with a pre-existing relationship in a race around the world.

Friends and professional models Tyler Denk and James Branaman were the winners of this Race.

A DVD was released on May 1, 2013, courtesy of Amazon's CreateSpace program.

Development and Filming

The Amazing Race 10 spanned 40,000 miles (64,000 km) and covered 4 continents and 13 countries, making this the season with the most number of countries visited. Amongst them, 6 were previously unvisited countries, including Mongolia, Kuwait, Mauritius, Madagascar, Finland and Ukraine. None of those countries have been visited since. It was also the first season to (nearly) circumnavigate the globe in a generally westwardly fashion, crossing the Pacific Ocean in the first leg and crossing the Atlantic on the final leg. Most other seasons transversed the globe in a generally eastwardly direction.

The Amazing Race 14 is the fourteenth installment of the reality television show The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race 14 featured 11 teams of two, with a pre-existing relationship, in a race around the world.

The season premiered on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and aired on Sunday nights with the season finale on May 10, 2009. The show was again hosted by Phil Keoghan.

Siblings Tamara Tien-Jan "Tammy" and Victor Jih were the winners of this season's race, and are the first Asian American contestants to win the competition.

The complete season was released on DVD on May 21, 2014.

Development and filming

The Amazing Race 14 lasted for 22 days and traveled over 40,000 miles (64,000 km). The teams raced in nine countries, including Romania for the first time, as well as Switzerland, Germany, Austria, India, China, Thailand and Russia (Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk), with the finish line in Maui, Hawaii. In an interview, executive producer Bertram van Munster revealed that the teams took a 13-hour train ride on the Trans-Siberian Railway, and got into a Siberian snowstorm with below-zero temperatures. He also revealed that the teams suffered extreme climates, intense Roadblocks and less time in airports, which added up to an exhausting course for the racers. In addition, CBS revealed the Race included the world's second tallest bungee jump, suffocating heat in India, and an Olympic-themed challenge that left the teams "gasping for air."

The Amazing Race 19 is the nineteenth installment of the reality television show The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race 19 features eleven teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship, in a race around the world. The 19th season premiered on September 25, 2011.

The nineteenth cycle started on Sunday, September 25, 2011. It aired on CBS in the United States on Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT with the season finale on December 11, 2011. The show is hosted by Phil Keoghan.

Engaged couple Ernie Halvorsen & Cindy Chiang were the winners of The Amazing Race 19.

Development and filming

This season of the Race traveled a little over 35,000 miles (56,000 km) across 20 cities and four continents. Filming started on June 18, 2011, with teams seen leaving Los Angeles International Airport and heading to Taiwan. As with the previous season, the starting line, which was located at the Hsi Lai Temple in the foothills of Hacienda Heights, California, had a unique task that the Racers had to perform before receiving tickets to their first destination. American film crews were also spotted in Hillerød, Denmark, and were suspected to be for The Amazing Race; marking the first time the Race has visited Denmark. Along with Denmark, this season marked other first time visits to Malawi, Belgium, and Indonesia.

France emerged as a major European power in the Late Middle Ages, with its victory in the Hundred Years' War (1337 to 1453) strengthening French state-building and paving the way for a future centralized absolute monarchy. During the Renaissance, France experienced a vast cultural development and established the beginning of a global colonial empire. The 16th century was dominated by religious civil wars between Catholics and Protestants (Huguenots).

In European elections, France was a constituency of the European Parliament. It was replaced by subdivided constituencies in 2004. The boundaries of this constituency were the same as the member state of France. Its MEPs can be found in MEPs representing the French constituencies before 2004

The France Pavilion is a France-themed pavilion that is part of the World Showcase within Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Its location is between the Moroccan and United Kingdom Pavilions.

Layout

The France Pavilion is themed to look like a Parisienne neighborhood with a pool and fountains and with a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Most of the shops on the streets are actual shops selling French goods such as Guerlain perfume. The attraction effects France's cities and historical structures. It also includes two French restaurants, Monsieur Paul (formerly the Bistro de Paris) and Les Chefs de France; as well as the eateries Les Halles Boulangerie and Patisserie and L'artisan des Glace ice-cream parlour.

Attractions

As with many of the pavilions located within the World Showcase section of the Epcot park, a key aspect of the France Pavilion is its attraction. In this case, the attraction is a panoramic film entitled "Impressions de France." The film, which has been playing since the opening day of the Epcot park in 1982, offers a visual tour of the nation, set against a musical score written by Buddy Baker, encompassing the music of classical French composers such as Claude Debussy and Camille Saint-Saëns. The film, itself, is the work of director Rick Harper and produced by two-time Academy Award nominee Bob Rogers. The film’s visual tour includes some of the nation’s most stunning and romantic landmarks such as the cliffs of Étretat in the Haute-Normandie region, Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy, Château de Chambord in the Loire Valley, Notre Dame de Paris and the Eiffel Tower.
