During the recording of this album the band consisted of: Alex Caird, Jasmine Rodgers, Steve Rodgers and Lee Sullivan. Get There is a studio album collaboration by American singer-songwriter Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws (lead singer of the band Nada Surf) under the band name Minor Alps. It was released on October 29, 2013 by Barsuk Records.
Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws, friends and infrequent collaborators since the early 1990s—they met at some Nada Surf shows—decided to form a band together and work on a project that is this resulting record.
The name of the band, Minor Alps, is a reference to the location of a cottage Caws' parents owned in France near Mont Ventoux. Caws described the mountain as a "minor alp" to a friend, and the expression stuck in his mind. "In the tradition of Iron Butterfly or Led Zeppelin, band names that contain contradictions, we chose Minor Alps—humble mountains," said Caws.
Hatfield and Caws co-wrote the record and sung on all of the songs together. They also played all of the instruments with the exception of drums and programming, which were supplied by Parker Kindred (Joan As Police Woman, Antony and the Johnsons, second Jeff Buckley record) and Chris Egan (Say Hi To Your Mom, Computer Magic, Solange). Kindred used a Roland TR-909 drum machine from the late 1980s to provide percussion. The record was mostly recorded by Tom Beaujour, a childhood friend of Caws', in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Céu (Portuguese pronunciation: [sɛu]), whose full name is Maria do Céu Whitaker Poças, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter whose first American album was released on the Six Degrees Records label in April 2007. She was born in São Paulo, Brazil on April 17, 1980, into a musical family, her father being a composer, arranger and musicologist. It was from her father that she learned to appreciate Brazil's classical music composers, particularly Heitor Villa-Lobos, Ernesto Nazaré and Orlando Silva.
By age fifteen she had decided to become a musician and by her late teens she had studied music theory, as well as the violão (nylon-stringed Brazilian guitar). Her songs reveal her many influences, which include samba, valsa, choro, soul, rhythm and blues, hip hop, afrobeat and electrojazz music.
As Céu herself explained, "I have a passion for Black culture, from Jazz divas to Afro beat. Everything comes from Africa. With Samba, I have a very strong connection to the old school that we call 'Samba de raiz' (Root Samba). I am a vinyl listener, so I tried to bring some of that to the CD, mixing it with modern things like rap or even 'Brega', which is the newest thing in Brazil."

Halley's Comet or Comet Halley (/ˈhæli/ or /ˈheɪli/), officially designated 1P/Halley, is a short-period comet visible from Earth every 75–76 years. Halley is the only known short-period comet that is clearly visible to the naked eye from Earth, and the only naked-eye comet that might appear twice in a human lifetime. Halley last appeared in the inner parts of the Solar System in 1986 and will next appear in mid-2061.
Halley's returns to the inner Solar System have been observed and recorded by astronomers since at least 240 BC. Clear records of the comet's appearances were made by Chinese, Babylonian, and medieval European chroniclers, but were not recognized as reappearances of the same object at the time. The comet's periodicity was first determined in 1705 by English astronomer Edmond Halley, after whom it is now named.
During its 1986 apparition, Halley's Comet became the first comet to be observed in detail by spacecraft, providing the first observational data on the structure of a comet nucleus and the mechanism of coma and tail formation. These observations supported a number of longstanding hypotheses about comet construction, particularly Fred Whipple's "dirty snowball" model, which correctly predicted that Halley would be composed of a mixture of volatile ices – such as water, carbon dioxide, and ammonia – and dust. The missions also provided data that substantially reformed and reconfigured these ideas; for instance, now it is understood that the surface of Halley is largely composed of dusty, non-volatile materials, and that only a small portion of it is icy.
"C U When U Get There" is a song by Coolio featuring 40 Thevz and based on the melody of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D Major. It was released in 1997 as the first single from Coolio's album My Soul. "C U When U Get There" was also featured on the soundtrack to the 1997 comedy film Nothing to Lose. The song peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and number 7 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart in the US. It was an international success, reaching the top 10 in many countries throughout Europe. It samples Pachelbel's Canon extensively. The record has been certified gold by the RIAA. The first live performance of this song was before its actual release during free concert at Paramount Canada's Wonderland put on by MuchMusic's Electric Circus and hosted by Monika Deol in August of 1997.
Azerbaijani rap band Dayirman and rapper Elşad Xose covered the song with Coolio in 2004 during Coolio's concert visit to Baku, Azerbaijan.
Jonah Hill and the cast of Saturday Night Live covered the song during Hill's hosting appearance on March 10, 2012.
[Verse One: Coolio]
Now I've seen places and faces
And things you ain't never thought about thinking
If you ain't peek then you must be drinking and smokin
Pretending not to loc'in but you're broken, let me get you open
Now little Timmy got his diploma and little Jimmy got life
And Tamikra around the corner just took her first hit off the pipe
The other homie shot the other homie and ran off with his money
And when the other homies heard about it they thought that it was funny
But who's the dummy, cause, now you done lost the hustler
A down-ass brother got replaced by a buster
And though I got love for ya, I know I can't trust ya
Cause my crew is rollin home and your crew is rollin dusta
And just because of that you act like you don't like the brother no more
Uh, I guess that's just the way it goes
I ain't tryin to preach, I believe I can reach
But your mind ain't prepared, I'll see you when you get there
[Chorus:]
I'll see you when you get there
When you ever get there
See you when you get there
I'll see you when you get there
If you ever get there
See you when you get there
[Verse Two: Lek Ratt (40 Thevz)]
More temptation and faith, I guess we livin for the day
I seen a man get swept off his feet, by a bullet and an AK
The situation so twisted everybody gettin lifted
I'm just tryin to take care of my kids and handle my business
Cause it way too serious so you gotta pay close attention
So you don't get caught sittin' when they come and do all the gettin
Life is a big game so you gotta play it with a big horse
Someone's gotta run a little faster cause we gotta lay the strugle
I'd be a fool to surrender when I know I can be a contender
And if everybody's a sinner then everybody could be a winner
No matter you rag collar deep down we all brothers
And regardless of the time somebody out there still love us
I'm a scuff and struggle and y'all I'm breathless and weak
I just strived my whole life to make it to the mountain peak
Always keep reaching sure to grab on to something
I'll be there when you get there when you wit the sound bumpin
[Chorus]
[Verse Three: PS (40 Thevz)]
You need to loosen up and live a little
And if you got kids let them know how you feelin
For your own sake give a little
Oh, you don't want to hear that, you busy tryina stack
and keep them from the Jones's is taking advantage of your own
The realest homies that you've been knowing for the longest
But some ain't missing a good thing until it's gone
Could have built an empire if not for the jealousy that divides us
We prefer to keep our eyes shut to describe when
It's something wrong and we desire
so hold your head up high if your poor and righteous
I know time seems right, and the problems seem endless
But at the times of despair we gotta put ourselves together
And if you feel you're out of the game then you need to get back in it
Cause nothing worse than a quitter
you gotta face responsibility one day, my brother
so gather up your pitty and turn it to ambition
and put your vehicle and drive and stop by my side
[Chorus]
[Outro: Coolio]
As we walk down the road of our destiny
And the time comes to choose which it gonna be
The wide and crooked, on a straight barrel
We got one push to give and one life to live
Stand up for something or lie down in your game
Listen to the song that we sing
It's up to you to make it big
I guess I'll see you when you see me
[Chorus -- fade out]
