Running for Clean Air in Warsaw
Running for Clean Air reached its final phase in Warsaw. The Warsaw Marathon 2024 took place on September 29 and the team is now analyzing the collected data and discuting the next steps with local stakeholders.
Air quality measurements
For six months, we have been monitoring air quality and heat stress with our sensor located in Pole Mokotowskie. This measurements is now concluded and we are preparing the final report.

Activities in Warsaw
After the official project launch in March, we started organizing regular training sessions around the sensor and cooperated with local organizations on other events.

The very first training session took place on May 8 in Pole Mokotowskie. We had a group of enthusiastic runners and two elite athletes: Dominika Stelmach, the winner of this year's Wings for Life, and Dariusz Nożyński. This was followed by a training session on June 3. In July, another two Polish running personalities came to lead the warm-up and subsequent 5km run: a former marathon runner Jerzy Skarżyński and a former sprinter Marek Plawgo. And in August, it was Mariusz Giżyński, Polish marathon runner, who led the programme. The very last training was a 10km run taking place just one week before the marathon.
On May 24, we joined Clean Cities Campaign for their air-quality-awareness event Street for Kids with a local school. We had the chance to do some fun sport activities with kids and show that physical activity is important and fun and could become a part of their days through an active commute.
