The Better Chipping Course

Would you like to save shots around the green? Everything you need to know about chipping from setup to club selection and even how to play the 'baby chip' is in this 10 lesson video course from PGA Master Professional Kellie Stenzel.

Understanding the Chip Shot

Let’s keep it simple. Chipping is the short game shot that keeps the ball low and running on to the green, and it’s a swinging motion that you already know.

Getting Your Chipping Setup Right

Here’s the grip and stance setup you need to hit perfect chip shots. Start with holding the club down the grip and keep your stance narrow.

Always Brush the Grass

I am going to show you a great way to practice brushing the grass with your club as you chip.

Playing a ‘Bump and Run’ Chip Shot

Once you get more experienced with your short game it is time to introduce the bump and run shot.

Chipping With One Club

Now I have to decide which club to use. If I have to choose only one club, it would definitely be the pitching wedge.

Chipping With Two Different Clubs

If you are feeling more comfortable with your chips and bump and run shots, you can add to your choices by putting another club into play.

Chipping With All Your Clubs

I love to chip with all the clubs in my bag because it gives me so many choices for different distances and obstacles.

Landing the Ball on a Spot

Pick your landing point for chips, normally 1/3rd of the distance to the target, and practice landing the ball right there.

The Baby Chip

When you need to play a really short chip shot, the baby chip may be perfect! It is definitely better than trying to take a shorter swing. Check it out.

Chipping With a Hybrid

One great alternative chipping club or even a Plan B when your short game is not going perfectly is your hybrid.
