The Guestbook for Wikispore is a place to introduce yourself and your interests in the project.
Similar to a guestbook in nature hiking or mountain climbing,
it lets you share with others along the green route of the WikiSpore Trail.
Some potential points to share:
- What is your wiki (and non-wiki) background?
- Which existing spores are you interested in?
- Which new spores would you like to start?
- What tech aspects are you into?
- What is your vision for Wikispore?

Wikispore Trail travellers
- I'm most interested in the Event Spore for current events and the Art Spore for artworks, my home chapter is Wikimedia NYC and I'm active on Wikipedia / Commons / Wikidata. I believe Wikispore has the potential to become wider than Wikipedia, and deeper than Wikidata!--Pharos (talk) 01:12, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- We need a space for experimental development of new sorts of content curation platforms. I am imagining Wikibase federation for structured datasets, new language versions of many Wikimedia projects other than Wikipedias, and miscellaneous new media content platforms such as for videos, unstructured data, and the various other projects proposed at Wikispore. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:34, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- I will need to explore more to learn the capabilities of this software and how it compares to more traditional Wiki setups. It might possibly be useful to set up a campus-wide Wiki to host the content of the sadly now-dormant guide "How To Get Around MIT", so that updates and revisions can be crowdsourced from the entire MIT community. Reify-tech (talk) 06:59, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
- I'm mostly active creating and editing LGBT-related content on the English Wikipedia and Commons. I was invited to participate on an Event Spore; still figuring things out. Funcrunch (talk) 04:22, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
- I am interested in landscapes and geographical objects. Therefore I started the Geo Spore to combine information, media and sources about geo-related topics. ChristianSW (talk) 16:39, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
- This could be good for storing oral knowledge. Koavf (talk) 11:31, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
- Any ideas on how one can check the veracity of oral knowlege? Ottawahitech (talk) 16:14, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- Interesting concept(s). Am looking in particular at Bio Spore, Org Spore, & Geo Spore. --A12n (talk) 03:46, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- I'm interested in monitoring all kinds of innovative uses of this platform --Gohary (talk) 22:41, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- Please let me know if I can relocate, host and develope here my two wikis: Encyclopedia of Civil Society of Ukraine, now it is hosted at Fandom: http://prostir.wikia.org ; Encyclopedia of Nosivka Rajon, now it is hosted at my own mediawiki installation: http://wiki.nosivka.info Both are in Ukrainian language. --Perohanych (talk) 11:25, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
- We don't have many rules about what we host just yet. Maybe you can make the inaugural thread at Wiki:Village Pump? Koavf (talk) 19:20, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
- I am not sure if just migration as a service is something that is supported, but if you want to develop something in English on Civil Society in general I would be up for it and start Civil Society Spore -- Zblace (talk) 05:28, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- Yes!!! I'm so happy! Sannita (talk) 16:05, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
- I admit I still don’t “get” WikiSpore, but I’m curious! - PKM (talk) 19:11, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hey, returning, had login issues at the start but happy to be back. I think this is a good project and a good way of expanding the types and perspectives of knowledge we should be sharing.Battleofalma (talk) 23:09, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
- If I can find the time, I'm interested in experimenting with Wikispore as a potential platform for hosting content related to the community gardens of NYC. TrMendenhall (talk) 18:59, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- Sounds interesting Ottawahitech (talk) 16:19, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- I have a long history using different wiki systems and supporting development of Croatian wikis + education on wiki software at Multimedia Institute in Zagreb, CROATIA. As a professional in contemporary culture (artist and organizer) I am interested Event Spore and Art Spore, but also started new ones like Sport Spore and maybe OtherWikiCultures Spore. I am mostly into experimenting with relations of content, form, interface, logic, code, function and infrastructure (I will not likely contribute a lot in quantity, but likely in discourse and concepts). I hope WikiSpore can reduce some of the rigidity that has built up in Wikimedia Ecosystem with age while allowing for different ways to do things in co-existence. Zblace (talk) 21:25, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
- I'm very excited and energized to see this new resource here. I see lots of potential for this to help to enrich all of our efforts. I am highly interested in promoting wider editing of history topics, through wikipedia:Wikipedia:WikiProject History. I am also highly interested in promoting greater across, through, over, and under all of Wikipedia, of various group editing activities and efforts? I primarily hope to do this through wikipedia:WP:Community bulletin board. thanks!! --Sm8900 (talk) 23:40, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
- I'm very interested in new formats, especially audiovisual ones, to collect knowledge that is more 'curated' than Wikimedia Commons and not notable enough for Wikipedia (i.e. not yet sufficiently covered in what Wikipedians consider reliable sources). I am also very interested in non-mainstream, non-free audiovisual content (e.g. experimental contemporary art and culture; rom files and screenshots and screenvideos of long-abandoned video games; recorded oral history that is protected by copyright and other rights...) and exploring ways how to integrate this more closely into Wikimedia projects, for instance through Linked Open Data and tighter integration with content stored at the Internet Archive. Spinster (talk) 16:51, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- Great idea, even if I haven't understood the whole concept yet. And why is there no physics spore :( ? Killarnee (talk) 23:02, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- I really like the idea of Wikispore. I'm especially interested in the Bio Spore and how it might tie into meta:Wikimedia genealogy project, and I'm also wondering if there's a place in Wikispore for descriptions of archival items in local history museums (and similar). I've done a bit of work with some small community organisations, and there's always this huge lack of a good online collaboration place where the histories of objects (letters, photos, etc. as well) can be stored and worked on. Usually things end up disappearing into Google Sheets, never to be seen again. Samwilson (talk) 03:57, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Today I am bringing in new Wiki users directly to WikiSpore, so please be patient with us ;-) IGX7891 & WixNix--Zblace (talk) 10:32, 12 September 2020 (UTC)...yes I am new --NixWix (talk) 10:54, 12 September 2020 (UTC) I'm also new. --~~~~
- I always wanted a Maker wiki to happen. I hope "Works" Spore or similar wikis become a thing. The world needs more collaborative places like Spores. Collaborative and crowdsourced content are not offered a free licence by many companies. This should make a change and ensure the communities get the respect they should be getting. Vis M (talk) 14:22, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
- WikiLaws / Wikileyes Hi! I guess I'm almost a wikiboomer or something like that. I'm interested to make son Wiki which has Laws with its diferents layers, I mean the diferent historical versions of the laws, but first the current version. As wikimedian, lawyer, and as old member of the Iberocoop mafia I think it could work. I found in meta a Wikilaw proposal and some site or projects like jurispedia, but I think the most or all of them are juridic enciclopedies, my idea it's a different concept. I hope to start the Law Spore and let's see what happens. By the way Art Spore it's cool. PS. I will add links after (sorry now I'm on my phone) and edit this post, since my english is not the best. Regards. jduranboger (talk) 15:47, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
