Meander River, Deloraine.

This suspension walking bridge is at Deloraine and was built in 1898 but obviously updated since then. This the Meander River which used to flood in areas of it but it's been a long time since that happened.

The building was built in 1907, it housed two turbine, a 19 H.P. Gunter and a 45" Samson.  The concrete weir across the river, and a diverting channel under a portion of the building, were all part of the complex.

The Wattle is still out and photos taken from the suspension bridge.

Deloraine

Deloraine is a town on the banks of the Meander River 50km west of Launceston, Tasmania Australia.
I used to work at the old hospital then the new one for a few years being in charge of both many times, now that Hospital is a Community Centre.
Deloraine is the town for the rural community in the area, it's clean and inviting.
These photos are but a few of the river from my archives.

Reflections at Deloraine, Tasmania

Deloraine is not far from Launceston where I live, it's a beautiful small rural town.

The river is the Meander River. We stopped in our caravan a few years back in autumn on these banks.

Few things at Deloraine, Tasmania, Australia

Took a photo of a few people by the Meander River, I was some distance away and I do believe they knew what I was doing :)  It's difficult to take people's photos sometimes, and I don't blame them for turning away..

The hotel was established in 1848, the Meander River is opposite.

Not sure what the above represents.

Bowerbank Mill, Deloraine, Tasmania

After about the first year of marriage I travelled to work at the Deloraine Hospital 5 days a week, and did 1,000 ml back in those day per fortnight for about 4 years in total. I had a MGB, a sport car which I loved, owned it for 8 years and it was new when we bought it.
Deloraine was always cooler all year round.  It's a busy town off the highway about halfway between Launceston and Devonport.
Each work day I would pass the Bowerbank Mill, it was a sorry sight back in those days, but now it's been renovated, and it's a World Class B & B, plus Art Gallery and Gift Shop, with favourable reviews.
The Mill was built in about 1863.

Took these photos of the outside this week. The remainder were taken from the internet, and I wouldn't have a clue as to whom they belong to.

From what I have seen of the inside, all bedrooms are different.
