Brython Semper was a Lord Admiral of the Imperial Armada during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.^[1a]

Biography

Semper was recruited into the Armada on the world of Cypra Mundi. By the time of the Horus Heresy, Semper had command of an entire Battlefleet consisting of more than forty ships above the world of Molech, which he led his battlefleet from the Avenger Grand Cruiser Guardian of Aquinas.^[1a]

When Molech was invaded by the treacherous Warmaster Horus, he led a tenacious resistance^[1a][1b], but ultimately his flagship was boarded in a party led by Horus himself. When the traitors reached his deck Horus told Semper that he had fought honourably, and if he lowered his sword more bloodshed would be avoided. Semper's response was to yell "For the Imperium!" and charge at Horus, Power Sword in hand. Disappointed, Horus casually struck him down.^[1b]

• Brython Semper's surname is a play on words detonating his valiant last stand against Horus and faithfulness to the Imperium, referencing the Latin phrase Semper Fidelis which means "Always Faithful".
