How we work
To achieve its goals, the EAU relies on the efficient structure of constituent bodies. The EAU’s daily administration is governed by the Executive Committee with support from the administrative headquarters, the EAU Central Office.

EAU Board
The EAU Board consists of the members of the Executive Committee, the chairmen of the Offices and the chief editor of the journal. The Offices are grouped under the EAU’s Governance, Science, Education and Communication units.
EAU Sections
The EAU Section Office actively brings attention to and develops subspecialist fields in urology. Thirteen EAU Sections are included in its structure, together covering a wide range of topics. Within the EAU structure, the sections represent a platform for narrowly-focused collaboration. The sections create opportunities for urologists to meet and exchange experiences with like-minded colleagues. The sections also run many ambitious projects, organise meetings and educational activities.
The General Assembly
The General Assembly, the EAU’s highest decision-making body, is mandated to pass resolutions which are necessary to achieve the goals of the association. The General Assembly decides on resolutions which include changes in the EAU’s statutes, bylaws, the election of members of the Executive Committee or the Board, the rejection of applications and salient membership issues, the approval of the annual report, and the dissolution or alteration of the EAU as a legal entity.
EAU Code of Ethics
To ensure good governance, interactions should be based on the fundamental principles of integrity, mutual respect, responsiveness, accountability, collaboration and transparency. The Code of Ethics of the European Association of Urology (EAU) addresses the core values of independence, fair market value for services obtained, and up-to-date scientific documentation for interactions with healthcare professionals, healthcare organisations, industry partners and patient organisations.
Our Partners
We develop and maintain close relations with the following independent international European urological, urology-related sub and super specialty organisations and various European organisations like EMA and the European Commission and patient organisations.
International Relations
The EAU develops and maintains close relations with national urological organisations throughout Europe and beyond. Also the EAU hosts several initiatives to support less fortunate country with urological care via the EAU Support Fund and the Global Philantropic Committee.
