The purpose of this study was to examine the comparative phylogeography pattern of Lutjanus kasmira in the Bengal Strait and the Arabian Sea using the mitochondrial COI gene as a marker. The population sampled of Indonesia was taken from fish landing in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, while the population of India represented Bengal Strait, Oman, Yemen, Djibouti and Somalia respresented Arabian sea was retrieved from the NCBI Genbank. The extraction method was carried out using a modified C-TAB protocol. In this study at total of 47 sequences were analysed that produced 22 haplotypes where 18 haplotypes distributed in the Arabian Sea and 4 haplotypes from Bengal Strait. 10 samples of Oman population produced 6 haplotypes, 10 samples from Djibouti produced 5 haplotypes, 5 haplotypes from the population of Yemen, Somalia 2 haplotypes and India 1 haplotypes, respectively. The mixed layer depth is directly affected by natural processes in the atmosphere. Mixed layer de... more The mixed layer depth is directly affected by natural processes in the atmosphere. Mixed layer depth in the Andaman Sea was analyzed based on salinity data from the 3-dimensional model from the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service. Seasonal signals are formed to identify the number of mixed layer depth seasons in a year. Wind, precipitation, temperature, and salinity performance analysis were performed using a monthly average value for 26 years. Based on the results, mixed layer depth differences in the Andaman Sea are influenced by wind and precipitation. The wind has a direct impact on mixed layer depth. The wind strength affects simultaneously as mixed layer depth conditions. Precipitation shows an indirect impact on mixed layer depth. Precipitation takes time to accumulate effect to change the state of mixed layer depth. The time required for precipitation is two months before the change in the mixed layer depth occurs. The mixed layer depth has two seasons annually, and the more significant season occurs in April as the lowest point and July as the deepest point. In the other season, October has a moderately shallow depth, and January has a moderately deep depth. The average differences in temperature and salinity in the surface layer and the mixed layer were 0.1266 °C and 0.2477 practical salinity units.

The T. vittata samples were collected from Aceh Tamiang District, the T. pectoralis were collected from Aceh Besar District, and the T. trichopterus were collected from Aceh Jaya District, Indonesia. A total 150 individual of fish samples (50 individual of every species) were measured for traditional morphometric characters. The results of univariate (ANOVA) analysis showed that all morphometric characters measured in three fish species were significantly different (P <0.05). Multivariate (Discriminant function analysis, DFA) analysis showed that T. pectoralis and T. trichopterus have more similar morphological characteristics, whereas T. vittata was discriminated distinctly. This research is a preliminary study regarding the extraction of kinetic energy from sea tides in... more This research is a preliminary study regarding the extraction of kinetic energy from sea tides in Aceh’s waters. Aceh’s waters have a reasonably long coastline (> 2000 km), which has not been studied and utilized much. The extraction of kinetic energy from ocean tides is based on the speed of currents and turbines. Hydrodynamic verification is based on sea-level data from TPXO7.2 and Geospatial Indonesia Agency (GIA). The tidal data is sufficiently consistent with the verification data from TPXO7.2 and GIA. Based on the results, the model succeeded in accurately describing the hydrodynamics currents in the research domain based on comparative verification data. The velocity of M2 tidal flow in the waters of West Aceh is relatively low, particularly in the waters of Ulee Lheue is 0.018 m/s while in Calang waters, it is 0.025 m/s. The purposes of study were to analyse the cellulolytic index, and to analyse the cellulase activity of bacteria isolated from soil mangrove. Qualitatively, assessment of cellulase activity were carried out at the Microbiology laboratory of Fish Quarantine Station, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products (SKIPM) Aceh, while quantitatively was observed in microbiology laboratory, Biology Department, IPB. Assessment of qualitative cellulase activity is performed by growing the selected pure isolate on 1% CMC medium then spilled 1% congo red to test its cellulolytic potential. Information on the embryonic development of fish is important to understand the early life histor... more Information on the embryonic development of fish is important to understand the early life history of fish, this information is useful for fish breeding, especially in crossbreeding and genetic engineering. Therefore, this study aimed to observe the process of embryonic development and the incubation time of climbing perch eggs which were incubated at a temperature of 28 °C. The results showed that the embryonic development of betok fish was divided into six phases, namely the cleavage phase (3 hours and 5 minutes), morula (4 hours and 30 minutes), blastula (5 hours, and 40 minutes), gastrula (8 hours, and 47 minutes), organogenesis (15 hours, and 39 minutes) and hatched. At an incubation temperature of 28 °C, the climbing perch fish eggs hatched 18 hours and 38 minutes after fertilization.Introduction

However, their biological information is limited, including the white-edged lyretail (Variola albimarginata). The fish is considered as the least concern (LC) based on the IUCN category. The objective of the present study was to study some biological aspects of the white-edged lyretail harvested in the northern coast of Aceh. The fishes were collected in several fish landing sites (TPI) and fish market located in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar District from June to August 2020. A total of 30 fish samples were collected in this study. The total lengths (TL) and weights (W) ranged between 14.30-36.02 cm and 33.2-581.6 g, respectively. The present study’s objective was to study some biological aspects of the orange-spotted grouper harvested in the northern coast of Aceh. The fishes were collected from June - August 2020 in several fish landing sites (TPI) and fish market located in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar district. In total, 30 fish specimens were collected in this study. The total length (TL) of the fishes ranged from 194.1-237.6 mm. Also, the weight of the fishes ranged from 100.7-176.7 g. All the collected fishes were female with the gonad maturity levels in level one (1), with the average gonad weight of 0.01 g. This study provides a reference point of some biological aspects of the orange-spotted grouper that will help develop a practical fisheries management of the species.

This research was conducted in September 2012 until February 2013in nine locations in the waters of Aceh Besar district, namely: AmatRamanyang, Lampuuk, PulauDituan, LhokKetapang, LhokSeudu 1, LhokSeudu 2, Deudap 1, Deudap 2, and Lamteung. The macroinvertebrates were recorded using three repeated 20 m belt transect in two different depths (2-4 m and 4-8 m) in each site. The result showed 46 species of macroinvertebratesbelonging toseven phyla were recorded. The diversity index in research station ranged between 0.88 - 2.26 (low to medium category).

This research was conducted at Aquatic Laboratory in Veterinary Medicine Faculty of Syiah Kuala University on September to November 2014. This research used six treatments with four replicates. The treatments were 0%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5%, and 15% pineapple extracts in the diet. The fish fed three times a day at feeding level of 5% body weight for 60 days. The result showed that weight gain ranged from 0.448 g to 1.678 g, the specific growth rate ranged from 0.039% day-1 to-0.973% day-1 , the daily growth rate ranged from 0.007 g day-1 to 0.028 g day-1 , and feed conversion ratio ranged from 2.537-7.829, feed efficiency ranged from 12.868% to 40.222%, and protein digestibility ranged from 74%-86.7%. The ANOVA test showed that addition of pineapple stem extract on the feed gave a significant effect on growth performance, feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency of climbing perch and the optimum concentration of pineapple stem extract in feed was 5%.
