Professora de Literatura e Cultura Brasileiras na UNICAMP, Livre-Docente em Literatura Brasileira pela UNESP (2016), Doutora em Teoria e História Literária pela UNICAMP (1997), Mestre em Teoria e História Literária pela UNICAMP (1992), graduada em Letras pela UNICAMP (1986-1989). Mais tarde, realizou três estágios de pós-doutorado: 2012-2013, PARIS/VERSAILLES, CHCSC, Université de Versailles à St. Quentin-en-Yvelines; 2008, PARIS: Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme/Université Paris VII, Denis Diderot; 1999, LISBOA: Universidade Nova de Lisboa/Instituto Camões. Pesquisadora da obra de Machado de Assis, especializou-se no estudo das crônicas do escritor e das relações entre Literatura e Jornalismo em sua obra. Estuda também a História do Livro e da Edição no Brasil e em suas relações com a França, sobretudo a História dos livreiros e editores Garnier. Outros assuntos de seu interesse são a relação entre literatura e jornalismo no Brasil do XIX e a formação da crônica. É bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa do CNPq e pesquisadora-associada ao Centre d'Histoire Culturelle des Sociétés Contemporaines, da Université de Versailles à St. Quentin-en-Yvelines (desde 2013) e ao Centre de recherches sur les pays lusophones, da Université Paris 3-Sorbonne Nouvelle (desde 2015)

Abstract: This article integrates a larger project that can be defined as the editorial history of Machado de Assis’ consecration. It takes as its starting point the writer’s dedication to prose fiction from the mid-1860s onwards, as well as some of Machado de Assis’ critical ideas about the novel at the same time. A subject already explored by critics, what we intend to demonstrate with originality is that, alongside Machado’s critical and aesthetic choices, his desire to adopt, in the novel, an urban perspective and character study, is an action parallel to his knowledge of editorial and publishing practices, notably from his contact with the main publisher in Brazil at the time (B.-L. Garnier), which reverberated transnational actions. The idea of the “formation of the novelist” focuses on the search for an identity as a fiction author and on the search for space for a fiction that could provide him with international circulation, although, from our contemporary point of view, we know that these attempts were unsuccessful. In this way of reflection, and through the analysis of documents, we evoke the active relations between Machado de Assis and Baptiste-Louis Garnier, especially in the years 1860-1870, as one of the accesses to the space of consecration progressively occupied by the writer, despite the tensions with his main editor. In this case, Machado de Assis is studied as an actor in the editorial inflection process that brought literary consequences to his career, as he had been working, until then, as a critic, playwright, poet and chronicler (1850s and 1860s).

No hipertexto do periódico cotidiano, a circulação e a hiperligação constantes das formas textuais criaram parâmetros de referencialidade e "literaridade" deslizantes, com os quais dialogou a obra de nosso maior escritor.
A partir das crônicas, a autora demonstra os procedimentos e os recursos textuais na gênese do narrador machadiano revelado nos romances da fase madura do Bruxo do Cosme Velho.
