Wonky birds

I've decided to break up the student birds into two quilts. This way the quilts will be able to fit to hang in smaller spaces for display, and it when I teach a class, there will be two quilts in the room instead of just one. Putting disparate blocks together is tricky. It's adding fabrics to one side or another, trimming the blocks so the edges are straight and square, inserting the occasional set-in square and basically winging it. I taught a Birds class yesterday at Quilted Threads. It was a fun day of birdmaking, and the students made a lot of terrific looking birds.
