June 1966 at the morning flag-raising ceremony at Camp Tanadoona in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Tanadoona still exists as part of "Camp Fire Minnesota", but both the camp and the organization pretty much exist in name only. I am sure that kids of all genders still have memorable experiences in Camp Fire and at Tanadoona, but the VITAL role it played allowing girls to discover themselves and their abilities away from the pressures of putting on a show for the boys is gone. 😢 Camp Fire Girls, Camp Fire, Girls Camp, Twin Cities, St Paul, Campfire, Pretty Much, The Boys, The Morning
