We extend the Hartman-Grobman theorems for discrete random dynamical systems (RDS), proved in [7], in two directions: for continuous RDS and for hyperbolic stationary trajectories. In this last case there exists a conjugacy between travelling neighborhoods of trajectories and neighborhoods of the origin in the corresponding tangent bundle. We present applications to deterministic dynamical systems.

The focus of this paper is to examine the extent to which firms in the electronics industry in Malaysia and Brazil (Manaus) have developed significant levels of innovative technological capabilities. By examining whether innovative capabilities have spread to these two lateindustrialising countries, the paper seeks to add new evidence to the debate of internationalisation of innovative capabilities and to argue against existing generalisations. Internationalisation of innovative capabilities is measured here by the technological capability types and levels that have been built within firms. The framework for capability building identifies types and levels of technological capabilities. The paper draws on empirical evidence from 82 electronics firms-TNC subsidiaries and local firms: 53 in Malaysia (Penang and Klang Valley) and 29 in Manaus (Northern Brazil). Empirical evidence has been collected during extensive fieldwork based on different data-gathering strategies. the study has found that the capabilities of most of the sampled firms in Malaysia and Manaus have been upgraded to carry out diverse types of innovative technological activities. Additionally, these capability-building efforts are strongly associated with higher capabilities for local decision-making and control, automation level, and efforts to increase exports. Indeed, the study has found pockets of innovative firms that innovate to be competitive by reducing costs, being more productive, reducing lead time and producing better products-regardless of whether they are in an import-substitution country or in an export-oriented country.

There has been an increasing interest in CubeSats missions due to its small size, low cost and flexibility to accommodate different payloads. It enables CubeSats to perform a range of various missions. One of the causes of failure in a satellite in space are the temperature peaks suffered during a full orbital cycle. Therefore, proper thermal control system design and test should be performed to guarantee the reliability of a spacecraft prior to launch.The present work aims to analyze the main heat transfer processes within a satellite to validate the 3-AMADEUS CubeSat and current methodologies used by CEiiA for nano and micro satellites. High-grade serous ovarian cancers (HGSOCs) arise from exfoliation of transformed cells from the fallopian tube, indicating that survival in suspension, and potentially escape from anoikis, is required for dissemination. We report here the results of a multi-omic study to identify drivers of anoikis escape, including transcriptomic analysis, global non-targeted metabolomics, and a genome-wide CRISPR/ Cas9 knockout (GeCKO) screen of HGSOC cells cultured in adherent and suspension settings. Our combined approach identified known pathways, including NOTCH signaling, as well as novel regulators of anoikis escape. Newly identified genes include effectors of fatty acid metabolism, ACADVL and ECHDC2, and an autophagy regulator, ULK1. Knockdown of these genes significantly inhibited suspension growth of HGSOC cells, and the metabolic profile confirmed the role of fatty acid metabolism in survival in suspension. Integration of our datasets identified an anoikis-escape gene signature that predicts overall survival in many carcinomas.

Objectivos: Neste trabalho pretendeu-se avaliar a actividade antioxidante e biológica de extractos de própolis obtidos em água, etanol, metanol, acetona e misturas destes solventes. A actividade antioxidante dos extractos foi avaliada pela sequestração do radical 1,1-difenil-2-picrilhidrazil (DPPH) e pelo poder antioxidante de redução férrica (FRAP). Os compostos fenólicos totais foram determinados pela reacção de Folin-Ciocalteu. Procurou-se também testar correlações entre as concentrações de compostos bioactivos dos extractos e as actividades biológicas observadas. Introdução: O própolis é um produto escuro e pegajoso, fabricado pelas abelhas a partir de materiais vegetais resinosos e a partir de fluido segregado pelas próprias abelhas. As propriedades antioxidantes, antimicrobianas e antimutagénicas do própolis são frequentemente referidas na chamada medicina popular, mas a sua capacidade de reforço do sistema imunitário é talvez a propriedade mais explorada comercialmente em formulações como extractos hidroalcoólicos ou xaropes. As aplicações tópicas têm também sido uma área de utilização preferencial deste produto. Métodos: Treze amostras de própolis bruto de diferentes regiões do país foram extraídas com água, etanol, acetona e misturas destes solventes. A actividade antioxidante dos extractos foi avaliada pela sequestração do radical 1,1-difenil-2-picrilhidrazil e pelo poder antioxidante de redução férrica. Os compostos fenólicos totais foram determinados pela reacção de Folin-Ciocalteu. O perfil de compostos antioxidantes dos extractos foi estudado por cromatografia líquida com detecção de díodos (HPLC-DAD). A actividade antimutagénica foi avaliada pelo Teste de Ames e determinou-se a actividade antimicrobiana relativa a Escherichia coli e a Staphylococcus aureus.

Schizophrenia is a serious and chronic mental illness which has a profound effect on the health and well-being related with the well-known nature of psychotic symptoms. The exercise has the potential to improve the life of people with schizophrenia improving physical health and alleviating psychiatric symptoms. However, most people with schizophrenia remains sedentary and lack of access to exercise programs are barriers to achieve health benefits. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of exercise on I) the type of intervention in mental health, II) in salivary levels of alpha-amylase and cortisol and serum levels of S100B and BDNF, and on III) the quality of life and selfperception of the physical domain of people with schizophrenia. The sample consisted of 31 females in long-term institutions in the Casa de Saúde Rainha Santa Isabel, with age between 25 and 63, and with diagnosis of schizophrenia according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR). Physical fitness was assessed by the six-minute walk distance test (6MWD). Biological variables were determined by ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay). Psychological variables were assessed using SF-36, PSPP-SCV, RSES and SWLS tests. Walking exercise has a positive impact on physical fitness (6MWDp = 0.001) and physical components of the psychological tests ([SF-36] physical functioning p < 0.05; [PSPP-SCV] functionality p < 0.05 and SWLS p < 0.05 of people with schizophrenia. The walking program enhances the quality of life and self-perception of the physical domain and physical fitness of people with schizophrenia.

This paper deals with the design problem associated with natural gas cogeneration systems. Despite the task complexity, this design process is strongly based on knowledge that experts formally apply in their activities. Through an appropriate knowledge representation scheme this study demonstrates that the knowledge-based system (KBS) is an approach well-suited to cogeneration plant design. The research involves the use of rule-based expert systems (RBES) and case-based reasoning (CBR). In this paper, the basic concepts of the CBR technique and a CBR prototype for assistance in cogeneration plant design are presented. An RBES prototype for natural gas cogeneration system design previously developed by the authors is used to generate cases for the CBR prototype. A solution generated by the CBR prototype for a plant design requiring 4 MW of power and 0.7 kg/s of saturated steam at 0.9 MPa is presented. The application of CBR in cogeneration plant design represents an original and important contribution of this work.

Based on an industrial survey with experts, this paper discusses relevant aspects regarding the way in which fluid power systems are designed. The paper briefly describes a computational support tool, developed as a prototype, to improve the design process in this area. The description includes issues of knowledge representation, domain selection, the expert system design process and validation; it also presents a development time frame and industrial potential related to the system. The paper suggests ways of applying such system in order to provide a training facility for new engineers and an empowering tool for experiencing designers, to integrate different knowledge sources in a computational environment, and to apply Internet technologies to facilitate communications among design agents.
