Today the Union was able to secure tentative agreements on five new items. The list includes safety improvements, improved language on overpayments, annual credited service statements for Tier 2 workers, increased access to your benefit reps and improving bereavement leave. Remember however that all of these tentative agreements are conditioned on the Company agreeing to the fair complete contract we are demanding.
More importantly, today the Union presented to the Company its complete economic package which includes general wage increases, catching the pension and 401k plans up to inflation, ending wage tiers, rolling in COLA as well as COLA for all, real profit sharing, and other demands for an economic package that compensates the members for their commitment to this profitable Company. We plan on being back at the bargaining table on Friday to start receiving the Company’s counter proposals.
REMEMBER TOMORROW – THURSDAY FEBRUARY 13TH – IS THE STRIKE AUTHORIZATION VOTE from 5:30 am until 5:30 pm at the Union Hall. The Bargaining Committee will be at the Union Hall all day, so come by not just to vote, but also meet up with the Committee.
It is important that you all turn out and vote “yes” and give the Bargaining Committee the power to demand the contract you deserve, or face a strike.

Yesterday, Tuesday 2-11-25, was a productive day at bargaining for two reasons. First, the bargaining committee continued to meet in small groups with the Company on workplace and shop floor issues, making some headway and moving towards some important agreements with the Company.
Second, the Union finally received enough information it needs and has finalized its economic demands that the Union will pass to the Company today, Wednesday 2-12-25. The Union’s economic demands stand for the core members’ issues: general wage increases, bringing the pension plan/matching 401k up to inflation, a fair and true profit-sharing plan, rolling in all COLA increases, ending the wage tiers, and about a dozen additional economic demands.
Remember to stay active:
*Attend the strike authorization vote TOMORROW February 13, 2025 from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm at the Union Hall, we need a massive turnout and a resounding “yes” vote
*Check the website regularly for updates
*Wear your buttons and stickers proudly/ These will be available at the Union Hall Thursday.
WHEN WE STAND TOGETHER, WE WILL WIN A FAIR CONTRACT.

The Union met today in a morning session with the Company and passed three proposals addressing your demand to limit the time the Company can recoup an overpayment made to employees, updating the Union bulletin board with digital communication kiosks, and presenting a proposal to help our benefit representative’s availability to service our membership.
In the afternoon, the bargaining committee split into sub-committees and met with the Company on issues such as pending disciplines and grievances, an updated skilled trades job posting system, wastewater duties and other shop floor improvements.
In the meantime, the Company is still slow in providing the necessary information for the Union to prepare its economic demands, however the bargaining committee has met all afternoon to work on an economic proposal that will get you the improvements in wages, pension and health care you demand and deserve.
REMEMBER:
*We need massive participation in this Thursday’s (February 13, 2025) strike authorization vote, held at the Union Hall from 5:30 am until 5:30 pm, Why? To show that we stand united to secure the economic improvements you deserve

While the Company has still not yet produced all the data and information the Union requested for the Union to put together its economic, retirement/pension and health care proposals, we are pleased to report some significant progress at the table on non-economic issues with a total of twenty signed tentative agreements achieved this week (these are contract changes that the Union has secured from the Company). No doubt the Company understands that we stand together, and our solidarity with buttons and signs and word of mouth is making sure the Company knows that we STAND UP together for a strong contract.
There is still plenty of work to do not just on economics, pension and health care, but also getting the Company to agree on vacation increments, safety shoe allotment (which the Union is pressing to include Inserts), employee referral bonuses for bargaining unit members, a more effective system for skill trades job postings, limits on the recovery of overpayments, and dozens more of your member demands. Do not worry, your demands and proposals are being pressed at the bargaining table. These are just examples.
Your Bargaining Committee will work over the weekend and we return to the bargaining table on Monday to work on pressing the Company on all of your demands for a fair contract.
We cannot accomplish these goals without your support and solidarity.
Remember:
*vote YES on the STRIKE AUTHORIZATION VOTE on February 13, 2025, from 5:30 am until 5:30 pm at the Union Hall
*Ask your Committee Reps, or stop by the Union Hall, for buttons, stickers and posters in support of our member demands and wear them proudly (demand is high, and the International is sending over a new round of buttons and stickers)
*Check the website regularly for updates and additional information
*Spread the word – and STAND UP for a Fair Contract.

Yesterday (February 5, 2025) the Union spent the morning continuing its work to press the Company on the members’ demands and proposals. A number of items are being tentatively agreed to as we continue to work through the membership’s demands. We had 32 of our new employees get paid for a lump sum payment of $2000. In 2023 they did not receive this amount like the rest of us because they did not have 90 days in yet. That’s why you pay your Union Dues and now they have it.
In the afternoon, some proud Local 933 members came to the Union Hall on their own time, to give video testimonials in support of our demands for general wage increases, improved health insurance, and the roll in of COLA for all.
Meanwhile, we continue to wait for the missing data from the Company so we can finalize our economic demands, including improving the pension plan so it catches up to inflation, and generous general wage increases to make up for lost time.
We can win an historic contract that accomplishes all of the members’ demands, but we can only do that with your support and commitment.
Remember:
*Spread the word, we need massive turnout for the strike authorization vote that will be held February 13th from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm at the Union Hall;
*Posters and buttons will be available soon, please wear them proudly to show your solidarity;
*Check the website for regular updates and announcements.
!! Stand Up UAW Local 933 for a massive win in 2025.

Yesterday the Union met with management to reiterate the importance of the information request the Union asked for December 9th 2024 and has yet to be fully received. The Company assured the Union the requested data would be delivered this week. The range of data requested will help the Union establish a basis for all economic demands we are asking for our membership including general wage increases, retirement benefits, profit sharing and healthcare to say the least.
The Shop Committee with the assistance of UAW International has made progress on several non-economic demands including production, skilled trades and in general items that make sense but are not currently in our agreement. You will start to see signs, buttons and stickers being handed out during non-working hours that help support what our membership is asking for.
As February 26, 2025 is quickly approaching, The Union has reminded the company the clock is ticking. There has been a great deal of support from the UAW International departments including help with bargaining at the table, resource department, communications and legal counsel. There will be a strike authorization vote February 13th at the Local 933 Union Hall from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please support the Unions fight to improve your wages, benefits and work environment. Please stick together and make time to vote. Allow your Union to fight for you.

The Union has submitted the majority of its demands and several proposals to the company as part of the ongoing 2025 negotiation process. On December 2, 2024 the UAW issued an extensive information request to the company. While the company has slowly begun to provide some of the requested information, they have not fully complied, delaying critical elements of our analysis and preparation. To date, the company has only given one proposal to the Union. That one proposal did not acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our members.
The Union has timely submitted both the required 60-day and 30-day notices to terminate the current agreement which is set to expire on February 26, 2025. In addition, a strike authorization vote will take place Thursday February 13, 2025 at the UAW Local 933 Union Hall. This vote and the formal notices are vital steps in our process to secure a fair and equitable contract for our members.
The Bargaining Committee greatly appreciates the overwhelming support from our membership. We also want to acknowledge the tremendous backing and resources provided by the UAW International Union throughout these negotiations. As we enter February 2025, a critical and busy time in this process, we will continue to keep the membership informed and updated concerning any progress.
Your solidarity and support is invaluable as we work to achieve a contract that reflects the value and dedication that our members deserve.
