Spain recorded a current account surplus of €4.9 billion in October of 2024, widening from the €3.1 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, to mark the largest surplus for the month on record. The goods and services surplus widened to €7.2 billion from €5 billion in the previous year, supported by the normalization of energy import prices that softened the debit portion of goods.
