Saint Helena, mother of Constantine, was the first true Christian Pilgrim, credited with finding many relics and spreading the faith.

St. Helena of Constantinople is the patron saint of archeologist. She is also the patron saint of converts, difficult marriages, and divorced couples. St. Helena lived from approximately 248-329.

St Helena. Protector of the Holy Places. Feast day - 21 May.

Today is the feast day of St. Helena (Helen), mother of Constantine. According to tradition, she discovered part of the Holy Cross while on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 326.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
