I think the Blockbuster logo is fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. The blue and yellow colors compliment each other well and make the internal text pop well. The logo itself is obviously a torn movie ticket. They could have gone with a full ticket and it would have worked well but I think the torn ticket adds more playfulness to the logo.
