First post of the new year ;)

Happy new year!

Yeahhh it's a little too late, but the last time was - is - still stressy... ^^° But I've got some stuff in the backhand I'll post at the end of semester so that you can see what I'm working on all day ;)

ALSO - For some reason, I couln't answer comments the last time, so pls don't be sad/angry that I didn't react, I'm working on the problem ^^; In the meantime you can stalk me on several other platforms and chat with me there ;)

So, what do I have for you this time...?
Composition-scribbles :D

The first one is my favourite :D

As I said before, I did the storyboard for my film classes and I really like the format. Also I love pictures that look like movie stills, when characters are not just posing or something but are acutally doing stuff... It's more dynamic and lifelike and everything, and I have a looooooooong road to go till I get there XD But it's fun! I hope I'll have some more time in the semester break...

So, serious stuff next time. Until then - Happy January! :D
Take care! ;)

The big YAY...

...which is, that I made it.
......some of you might allready know, but.....
My portfolio passed the test in Krefeld!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!
That means I can start there in October 8D And I got a letter from Nuremberg, that I passed the portfolio test there, too, and am invited to the qualifying examination next week. Challenge accepted!
Might be hard to choose between Krefeld and Nuremberg when I might pass the test there too XD

And some moar picture for those who allready knew I passed:

I played with a modified standart brush here, and I still like to play around in the great sector of digital painting, but it's kind of unsatisfying... on the one hand, to get to the real hardcore naturalistic stuff, I need much more practice, and on the other hand, that hardcore naturalistic stuff don't interests me that much - cause if you need photorealism, you can go and take a photo, don't you?

I think the sense of a picture in this time is to see, that it's a picture - in a good way ;)

Have a nice day! :D

On time!

...today ;D

So, this pic  is kind of the same working process as that one from the day before yesterday.

It's more playing around with patterns this time.

...I love his hair color in this pic ;)

Not much to tell from my side this moment, I'm kinda busy but only with stuff that has (nearly) nothing to do with drawing ... >__> Well.

Have a more relaxed day! ;)

Stressed out but still living

Heyo everyone!

If anyone is wondering why I didn't blog yesterday, it was just because it was kind of stressful and I hope I won't go sick cause I keep having a strange headace. But I'll try to keep on blogging!

So, more couple-pictures! I like to draw people interacting with each other (which is one reason why I wanna become a comic artist) and I think it's even more enjoable if there are some emotions involved. Such as happyness, love, lust, courage, blah blah blah..... and anger, hate and despair, and I think much people focus so much on positive emotions and the negative emotions just take about one or two facial expressions and that's it.... I think I have to do some meme or something to that topic.

Big spontaneous picture! I was just scribbling with edding to try out some new marker paper and this is the result. That edding died half the way so I could do the shading... and I really like the pic, even if it's probably just junk and kind of a ten minute work...I don't care ^^

Have a nice day! :D

42!

Hey out there! :D

It's the unbelieveble 42. blogpost with my pictures! 8D That means I have only 9958 posts 'til 10.000! Should be easy to do. ;)

I love Shar's coat and his haircolor in this pic, and I want that 42-shirt ;D

This time, the outlines are just pencil on copy paper,  scanned and than colored with photoshop. It's all kind of rough, but I think I like that more than a clean, sterile look... and at last this fits the character of this guy better ;)
So, have a nice day, and don't forget your towel.

....and DON'T PANIC! ;)

Ink and Vectors

Hey out there :D

Fist, something technical. I was told by some people that they couln't post comments on my blog, and now I changed some stuff. First try worked well, so anyone should be able to leave some comments here, even if you're anonymous :)

My ink-phase is ongoing, and today there will be colored ink. (Yup. As I promised, more color ;D) And, because I'm working on my skills in several programs the same time, I took Illustrator and remade the same image as a vector graphic.

So, at first the ink image:
Working process: Scribble with pencil, outlines with nib and colored with brush, on water color paper.  I really love this red ink, and I really hate that paper. Don't know why, but it developed a fuzzy surface during the inking and painting process (sometimes that happens because of erasing, but this paper was fuzzy over all, even on the plain white area on the left, where I didn't touch the paper with anything -_-)
But it's not that bad for a 20 minute pic, I think.

And now the vector version:
If you know Illustrator, I made this with the Pen Tool only (I think there are plug ins or something, that you can convert a scan directly into vectors, but on the one hand, I don't really know these plugins and on the other hand I guess it's the better practise do to that stuff manual ^^;) and the effect was, that I spend around 3 hours with that version of the picture 8D Guess there must be a quicker way to do that stuff ,
...But I still don't know if I like the clean look most vector pictures have. Sure, in lot's of cases it looks really cool, and sometimes you want that sterile atmosphere....but there are also lots and lots of pictures that look just really dead with that sleeked lines and forms, and I often think that's a pity D:
Yeah, I like it rough and dirty... eh, that came out wrong XD
 So. What do you think?

HERE WE GO!

Hi out there! 8D

Obviously I love jumping characters, and I wanted to try out my new colored ink, and so I made this pic ;D

GO, Shar, GO! Woohooo!!

The outlines are made with colored ink, the coloration is copic and the higlights are a white pigment pen. It's not that easy to draw in this more cartoony style but the lines are more simple and I worked the whole thing out in about 2 and a half hours or something.

Have a nice day and a nice weekend!! :D

Something about my normality. And music!

Hi out there! :D

As promised, another comic about my daily life ^^

Yes, typically I don't talk to my pictures while drawing. I rather rant and rave at them. (For some reason it's especially the pencil-pictures I rant on, and nearly never stuff in ink or photoshop or something.... Maybe cause I use pencils most of the time?)
Anyone who can understand? ;)

Aaaand here a link to promised music XD Klick me, I'm an enchanted link!
Svetlana Chmacova, a canadian manga-artist whose comics I adore, drew the cover and linked to the band. Fist I just wanted to hear what it's all about, then I ended up listening the whole album 4 or 5 times at a stretch. For a debut it's really good in my ears ;D Probably I will buy that CD as soon as I can.

Have a nice day!
Cheers

Yet another experiment

Hi out there! :D

I just wanted to see how the colors work in this one, so I took a (s/w) photograph, traced the rough outlines and scribbled the colours onto the picture.

It's just a sketch, but I really like it...

Love to all of you out there! :D

Cheers

Another experiment and something about Titanic

Hi out there! (and a special Hi to my first follower... Hi! :D)

So, today my boss showed me a method to combine analog with digital painting. The principle is easy, you just take a black/white/grey analog painting, scan it and put the colors with photoshop under the structure, so you can still see the original drawing style through...

My quick trying looks this way:

I really like the effect that you can still see the rough brush stroke coming through.

Well, and I finished another comic strip...true story again ;)

Have a nice day! :D
