It happens across a lot of pedigree breeds. I remember seeing a photo a Beltex breeder had posted up a few years ago, with a heat lamp over each pen and a big patio heater in the middle of the shed too.
I guess it ensures that every soft lamb survives, to go on and breed more soft la...

There was a large Suffolk dispersal recently with all kit sold with it. I couldn't believe how many heat lamp boxes were for sale....all apparently bought by another Suffolk breeder. I'm told they're a great job for new borns. Lambs can sit in the box for an hour before the shepherd helps them up to take their first suck
