Lambing pens

I was speaking to a vet friend and he was telling me he knows a couple pedigree Suffolk breeders that have heat lamps in there pens in this country. 🤯🤯

It happens across a lot of pedigree breeds. I remember seeing a photo a Beltex breeder had posted up a few years ago, with a heat lamp over each pen and a big patio heater in the middle of the shed too.

I guess it ensures that every soft lamb survives, to go on and breed more soft la...

Great business plan I suppose as these soft tups will only last one season if they are lucky so there customers have to come back for more next year. 🧐🧐

There was a large Suffolk dispersal recently with all kit sold with it. I couldn't believe how many heat lamp boxes were for sale....all apparently bought by another Suffolk breeder. I'm told they're a great job for new borns. Lambs can sit in the box for an hour before the shepherd helps them up to take their first suck 🤣
