On 30 September 2019, a horde of apartheid-era zombies rose from the grave to attend a "#NatsNeverDie rally" at the Cape Town Civic Centre. They were there to "support" the Cape Town city government's policies—increasingly similar to those of the National Party under apartheid, but with economic rather than racial justification. "Forced removal then, mass eviction now! Group Areas then, relocation camps now!" chanted the protesters.
