NV_1980, That looks like a Xenagos deck! There's a player in my regular group that has a Xenagos, God of Revels deck, so I wanted to do something different.

There's a few differences in our two decks, and I think it comes down to your deck's focus on mana production as a means to use cards Aggravated Assault and Moraug, Fury of Akoum more than once, and admittedly, I forgot that card existed. I'll definitely be adding it to my own list. I'll also be looking at adding World at War and potentially Relentless Assault. There are a few other cards I may look into swapping out as well.

My deck above has a "cheat creatures into play" sub theme. This allows me to trigger extra combats by cheating in creatures like Anzrag, the Quake-Mole or Scourge of the Throne on the first combat. Then using the second combat to trigger another combat step or two. With Karlach, Fury of Avernus in the command zone, I also wanted to make sure I was playing other creatures that made more combat steps. Like the aforementioned cards and Combat Celebrant. Running Fury of the Horde and Savage Beating helps add to that, but shouldnt be this deck's primary source of extra combat steps.

Generating a ton of mana via creatures attacking is great value, and it works well to allow both our decks to play one or more large creatures ahead of curve; however, there are some differences that appeal to different play styles in both decks. Looking at your list has definitely given me some extra ideas, but all and all, I think both decks have different sub themes that may appeal to a variety of other players. Thanks for the comment!

What is the point of squee, synergy with survival of the fittest? Reminds me of when I used to run Genesis for a similar interaction.

Do you have any suggestions for a 1:1 dragon swap that would potentially work better?

I was thinking something like Scourge of the Throne would be better over Shivan Dragon and could make some thematic sense :D

In the early days of the deck I actually played Aggravated Assault, but it was really too mana intensive. I play it in other decks, but they usually have green as one of their colors. Boros is just too weak at generating mana and even in mid to lategame I'd rather spend the 5 mana on a stronger board presence than just an extra combat phase. That's the reason why Aggravated Assault was replaced by creatures like Combat Celebrant, Moraug, Fury of Akoum & Scourge of the Throne.

I don't like Lightning Greaves in equipment decks, because it happens more often than I'd like that I only have one creature on the battlefield. And not being able to equip more equipment is a really unpleasant slowdown..

Dolmen Gate is a good idea that I've already thought about myself. However, no free slot has yet been found for it. And I have to say that I play all my decks in paper and I just haven't been able to get my hands on a Dolmen Gate because I haven't come across it yet ;) But I'll keep my eyes open for it in the future!

Aggravated Assault would be a good replacement for Waves of Aggression. It goes infinite with Sword of Feast and Famine for as long as you can hit an opponent in combat. Scourge of the Throne is another on-theme option. Seize the Day is also great when you really want 1 extra attack trigger.

I would second Poprox's suggestion to add Bloodthirster. It's strictly better than Scourge of the Throne in this deck, so I would replace it for that. Though he's no angel/demon/dragon, I think Isshin, Two Heavens as One can also prove very useful. Drana and Linvala should be a maybe- or sideboard consideration at least, as they have exceptionally powerful, versatile potential.

Hi, nice deck! Not sure how crazy you're willing to go when it comes to additional attack shenanigansx, but you can expand even further in that direction by adding Aggravated Assault, Bloodthirster, Combat Celebrant, Fury of the Horde, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, Port Razer, Savage Beating, Scourge of the Throne, to name but a few.
