LG unveils new hybrid floor lamp that hides a built-in projector and Bluetooth speaker ahead of CES 2025

LG projector floor lamp CES 2025 PF600U-01

The CES 2025 reveals are starting to kick off and the latest comes in the form of LG’s new PF600U – a combination of LED floor mood lamp, Bluetooth speaker, and projector. This reveal sits alongside the new CineBeam S, the brand’s ‘most compact 4K UST model yet.” Both of the new lifestyle projector products will get shown off for the very first time on the show floor in Las Vegas at CES next week, but we have some details on what to expect here today.

PF600U – projector meets floor lamp meets Bluetooth speaker

The PF600U is described as a versatile 3-in-1 lifestyle companion for everyday spaces.” It comes in the form of an upright floor lamp and is apparently already a CES Innovation Award honoree designed to transform “living spaces with its multifunctionality.”

It serves as a home projector, Bluetooth, and LED mood lamp to set the vibes, play some new tunes (or movie/show audio presumably), and project your visuals on your nearest free wall – it’s basically a half descent project built-into a stand with speakers and some LED lighting.

Whether enjoying a private theater, soothing visuals or a mood-lit listening session, it effortlessly curates a distinctive experience that enriches the moment.

The LED lamp side of things isn’t the smart lighting you might be hoping for, or at least it doesn’t sound like it is at this point. There’s no HomeKit or Matter action here, it simply “enhances ambiance with nine colors and five brightness levels” alongside a 110-degree tilting head that also supports the auto screen adjustment function for movie nights and “immersive music sessions with friends.”

The built-in projector delivers FHD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution, a somewhat underwhelming 300 ANSI lumens of brightness, OTT streaming via LG webOS, and stereo speakers with passive radiators for “rich and immersive sound.”

Features at a glance:

  • Resolution FHD (1,920 x 1,080)
  • Brightness 300 ANSI Lumens
  • Contrast Ratio 150,000:1
  • Size (W x D x H) 290 x 290 x983
  • Weight 7.5kg
  • Light Source LED (RGBB)
  • Projection Lens/Screen Size 30 – 120 inches
  • Throw Ratio (Min.) 1.2
  • HDR
  • HDR, HLG
  • Speaker Stereo sound (Passive Radiator x 2)
  • Keystone Auto Screen Adjustment
  • Platform webOS
  • Wireless Android / iOS
  • Inputs HDMI, USB Type-C

I guess it seems like a good idea – a projector that comes already on a stand that can seamless blend into a space as a lamp when not in use. But I can’t help but feel it’s just a bit gimmicky, the sort of thing you expect to catch some attention at CES each year without actually being overly useful. It looks cool, and would be fun to have around, but that all depends on how wildly expensive it ends up being – the projector specs don’t seem all that impressive enough to warrant a major investment for me.

As of right now, we do not have availability details or final pricing – this will likely come into focus next week once the new LG projector lamp sees the light of day.
