THE AREA IS HISTORICALLY VERY IMPORTANT. IN 1857, WHEN THE FIRST WAR OF INDEPENDENCE BROKE ON 27, JUNE 1857 COLONEL WHEELERS CAMP TRIED TO ESCAPE BY BOATS FROM THIS GHAT AREA. ONE BOAT CARRYING 4 PEOPLE ESCAPED AND REACHED LUCKNOW AND REVOLTED WITH THE SUPPORT OF BRITISH ARMY STATIONED AT LUCKNOW. THAT IS HOW THE REBELLION HAS BEEN CRUSHED.
