Correspondance:

My OLE pal wild Bill Kuhlmann forwarded me the attached... The factory
race  AMX Bummer... I took these photos at MAR Wentzville, Mo. myself. 1 CS 10 stood for AHRA formula 1 (multiple carbs) C/Stock, 10 was the S/S handicap. With the 2-4's on cross ram on terrible race track surfaces is would run 11.20 with my wife Char driving. During this time period we also had a Hurst Rambler 390 4V that ran 11.60's with Char driving... We were not the original owners of either car. The AMX was originally ran StLouis. Both cars went to Arizona with Gary Scott after being raced very little by Gary Scott & Uhey... Years later while running our Cobra roadster at the original MAR Nostalgia event a young man from St.Charles, Mo. area

was in the trailer looking thru old drag photo albums and inquired about the AMX. I give him Scott's phone number and he flew to AZ bought the AMX  and trailered it back to St.Charles and since the car has been completely restored to original RWB paint etc...

He sent me a magazine after restoration that had a feature on the car with photos...

As I write this, Char is searching for that mag and other info with names etc...  When it surfaces, I'll copy and send it to ya...We ran the car at MAR, Beardstown, IL., Keokuk, IA. etc...I'll try and attach a few photos...

Hope this is of some help to ya...Regards,

Carl Hirst
Mexico, Mo.
