Shleee Polish New Shades Swatches & Review

Hi there again! I wanted to thank everyone so much for the incredibly kind sentiments on my last blog post. In case you missed it, it's kind of important and I'd love if everyone gave it a glance. Now on to more polish! Today I wanted to show you some fun shades from indie brand Shleee Polish!

Mean Girl is a sweet baby pink polish loaded with blue/teal glass fleck shimmer. This formula was a touch thick, but that helps with it's opacity. I used three coats here. This reminds me of the movie Clueless, but I'm guessing the name is probably a reference to Mean Girls haha.
Shleee Polish Mean Girl

Salazar Slytherin 3.0 is a deep green holographic polish accented with silver holographic micro glitters. This applied effortlessly and was opaque in two coats. Named after a character in the Harry Potter universe, the founder of the Slytherin house at Hogwarts. I am a Ravenclaw, but I'm pretty sure I have some Slytherin tendencies, so maybe you could call me a Slytherclaw ;)
Shleee Polish Salazar Slytherin 3.0

Mystic Jadeite is a pale, faded mint shade with purple shimmer, holo flakes, and iridescent glitter pieces. This is kind of a shade shifter, it leans more blue on me but it looks kind of greenish in different lighting. It's a little sheer but not as much as I expected. Three coats.
Shleee Polish Mystic Jadeite

Jakku is a blend of glitters and mica shimmer in a clear base that creates a gorgeous reflective copper/bronze shade. Nice and opaque in just two coats. A real stunner, I am in love with this! Named for a desert planet featured in Star Wars. This dries flat, the glitter pieces don't stick up which is nice.
Shleee Polish Jakku

Sectumsempra is a blackened polish with strong green shimmer and silver holographic microglitter and shimmer. This was very opaque and goes on like butter. I used two coats here. Another Harry Potter reference, this is the name of a dangerous spell, certainly not to be messed with!
Shleee Polish Sectumsempra

Moon Crystal Power is a mix of ultra holographic flake glitter pieces in purple, blue, and pink in a clear base. I built this up in three coats, but it can also be used as a layering polish. I believe the name is referencing Sailor Moon, one of the maker Ashley's favorites. Dries gritty so you'll want a thick top coat.
Shleee Polish Moon Crystal Power

Emerald Candy is a vivid emerald green jelly with silver holographic microglitter and flakes. This applies easily, nice and even. It is a jelly so it lends to being a bit transparent. Despite that I was able to get full coverage with just two coats!
Shleee Polish Emerald Candy

Invocation is a blend of purple and dark grey holographic microglitters in a clear base. This is another one that you can build up or layer; I put on three coats here. Dries gritty so I recommend a thick top coat for a smooth finish.
Shleee Polish Invocation

These shades and more can be purchased on the Shleee Polish website for $10-11 each. Let me know what you think of these polishes! Any catch your eye in particular? My favorite has to be Salazar but Jakku is a close second!

Glam Polish Limited Edition Group Exclusives Swatches & Review

Hi there! I've got some new polishes from Glam Polish today to celebrate their 4th Anniversary and their fans, two new limited edition polishes created exclusively for the members of the Glam Polish Facebook fan group!

Glitter For Breakfast is a special shade created from an inspiration picture and name suggested by fan group members. It is a mix of pink, violet, gold and silver holographic microglitter in a delicate pink tinted holo base with platinum silver flakes, pink glass flecks, and holo flakies. Excellent application, covers in one coat but I used two here. It is a glitter so it will dry with a gritty texture, I suggest using a layer of thick top coat or two to get a smooth finish.
Glam Polish Glitter For Breakfast

L-O-V-E is a special shade created to celebrate Glam Polish’s birthday and to show appreciation to their customers for supporting them over the last four years. This is a greenish-teal-turquoise intense holographic with added platinum silver flakes. This is has a superb formula, it's close to being a one coater but I used two here. This is stunning, not to be missed!

Different Dimension Homespun Holidays Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday friends! Different Dimension has a beautiful new holiday collection out right now called Homespun Holidays, a seven piece collection full of holographics and one glitter topper. This classy bunch of colors are gorgeous and is sure to liven up your nails this holiday season, and beyond.

Family is a light gold linear holographic with added shimmers. This looks more yellow gold in some lighting and more soft pale gold in others. I adore a good gold and this makes me swoon! Two effortless coats.
Different Dimension Family

Naughty is a bold cherry red holographic. This flame is a bit less intense than the other holos in this collection, it almost seems like the vibrant base color is swallowing it up, but it's more prominent in person. You can get full coverage in one coat but two gives a slightly deeper color.
Different Dimension Naughty

Celebration is a greyed taupe holographic with added shimmers, flakies and reddish-copper holographic microglitters. Fabulous formula, two coats for full coverage. Due to the microglitters this dries ever so slightly more textured than the others, but you may not even notice.
Different Dimension Celebration

Nice is a cheery medium grass green linear holographic. This has almost a jelly-ish formula, less opaque. I used three coats here but you may be fine with two depending on your application style.
Different Dimension Nice

Tradition is a pale copper holographic polish with added copper shimmers. Another excellent formula, two coats. A gorgeous shade, I need more copper polishes in my life!
Different Dimension Tradition

Blizzard is a glitter topper, a clear base filled with silver holographic glitters, iridescent glitters and white glitters to represent freshly fallen snow. I used one coat over Naughty. The twinkly iridescent glitters are my favorite in this, I can't wait to try it over more base colors! Dense with glitter and super easy to apply evenly, which I really appreciate as I find layering to be tricking sometimes.
Different Dimension Blizzard

Rejoice is a silver linear holographic polish with added shimmers and silver micro flakies. Mega flame density on this one, like wowza! The flakes add another cool dimension too, it's a winner. Two easy, dreamy coats.
Different Dimension Rejoice

Different Dimension also has some new cuticle oil scents available for the season: Blessings - an enveloping blend of grape, peach and plum with sparkling citrus, rose and musk; Jolly - just like mom use to make - yummy cookies made with sugar and vanilla and fresh from the oven; Noel - crushed candy canes are sprinkled over luscious layers of sugary white chocolate to make this cool yet sweet dessert sensation; Cheer - holiday notes of fir needle, cinnamon stick, cranberries, crisp apple and cedarwood; and Merry - notes of spun sugar, vanilla bean and apple cider.

The Homespun Holidays collection is available now on the Different Dimension website for $12 each, with the exception of Blizzard, which is specially priced at $5. Let me know what you think about these gorgeous holiday polishes!

The Holo Hookup December 2016 Swatches & Review

Hello holo lovers! I have four new holographic lacquers to show you today, that's right, The Holo Hookup is here again! The December 2016 installment of the monthly box is themed for Hollywood Bombshells, named for four powerhouse women of the silver screen. I'm all about old Hollywood glam style so I am totally here for this! The three founding brands Cupcake Polish, Glisten & Glow and Different Dimension are joined by guest maker Darling Diva Polish this month.
color inspiration

Glisten & Glow Mae, for Mae West, is a black linear holographic with red and purple shimmers and silver galaxy glitters. Flawless formula, two coats. I really like Mae, she is hilarious and was one of the first female playwrights!
Glisten & Glow Mae

Different Dimension Audrey, inspired by Audrey Hepburn, is a hot pink linear holographic with added shimmers and microglitters. A very opaque, creamy holo. I used two coats but you can get full coverage in one. I have a special place in my heart for Audrey, her movies are some of my favorites and her beautiful philanthropic heart is still so inspirational to me.
Different Dimension Audrey

Cupcake Polish Grace, named for Grace Kelly aka Princess Grace of Monaco, is a metallic silver gunmetal linear holographic. Great formula, almost covers in one coat, but I used two here. Dries super fast! I adore old movies so I have tons of love for Grace.
Cupcake Polish Grace

Darling Diva Vivien, after Vivien Leigh, is a burgundy holographic with gold shimmer and gold holo sparks. This has a little more of a jelly type of base, so it requires at least two coats for opacity. This is my first Darling Diva polish! I'm not as familiar with Vivien, except for Gone With the Wind, but she's definitely a bombshell.
Darling Diva Polish Vivien

This quartet costs $40 and will be available for pre-order on Monday, November 21st at 9pm EST through Monday, November 28th at 9pm EST on The Holo Hookup website. This month they are offering FREE domestic shipping and reduced shipping internationally ($5.00 off the normal international and Canada shipping rates) to celebrate over a year of The Holo Hookup! (November 2015 was the first box!) Let me know if you like the theme for this month! Are you interested in picking up this box?

Illyrian Polish Returning Shades Swatches & Review

Hi folks! Today I have some shades from indie brand Illyrian Polish to show you. These aren't from one particular collection, just a few returning shades that are being restocked this Friday. On to the swatches!

Fabled is a magenta purple jelly with turquoise & green shimmer and violet and purple/green micro flakes. This has a nice, thin formula. I used three coats here for full opacity. These all dry on the dull side so you'll probably want a top coat for shine.
Illyrian Polish Fabled

Gold Lion is a deep, dark gray with copper metallic flake shimmer. Great formula, almost a one coater! I love the glow of the copper in this. Two coats here.
Illyrian Polish Gold Lion

Awaken Your Magic has a lilac purple jelly base with copper/pink shimmer and holographic silver microglitter. Maybe it's the name, but this one reminds me of a fortune teller for some reason haha. Easy peasy formula, opaque in two coats.
Illyrian Polish Awaken Your Magic

Killer Queen has a bold red raspberry jelly base filled with magenta holographic microglitter. Nice formula, dries semi-gritty, which is normal for a microglitter. A thick top coat should cover the texture easily. I used three coats.
Illyrian Polish Killer Queen

Bioluminescent is a medium/dark fuchsia jelly with a strong blue shimmer giving it an overall purple loo. This is seriously gorgeous, so vivid. A little thin but very easy to polish with. It deepens on each coat, so depending on the look you want, I'd recommend 2-3 coats. I did three here.
Illyrian Polish Bioluminescent

These shades, along with their Fall 2016 Stranger Things collection, will all be available on the Illyrian Polish website this Friday, Nov. 11th at 6pm CST. Any of these shades catch your eye? I'm obsessed with Bioluminescent, and Gold Lion is so my style! What are you planning to pick up from Illyrian tomorrow?

Shleee Polish Swatches & Review

Happy Halloween! Did/are you doing anything festive for this eerie holiday? I didn't do much but I enjoy this time of year immensly. To get you in the spirit, I have three dark and vampy polishes to show you today from indie brand Shleee Polish. I've know the maker, Ashley, for a while now and I couldn't resist picking up a lacquer that she had teased on Facebook a while ago. She actually included two extra goodies for me in the package, incredibly sweet. Let's take a look!

My Roanoke Nightmare is the polish I had to purchase, it's named for this season of American Horror Story, a favorite of mine in general, but this season is epic-ly great! This has an opaque black jelly base filled with color shifting shimmer and red microglitter. This is two easy coats.
Shleee Polish My Roanoke Nightmare
Shleee Polish My Roanoke Nightmare

It looks different depending on the lighting, so I tried to show off the shift in indirect sunlight for you. I'm head over heels for this! This shade is not available in their store right now, but they do have a "2.0" version which is almost exactly the same though.
Shleee Polish My Roanoke Nightmare

Black Moon is a black polish with color shifting shimmer, holographic shimmers, and iridescent glitter. It can shift more green or purple, I was only able to capture the purple though. This went on without any difficulty, creamy and with great coverage. This had a bit more of a scent to it than the other two, a little like old Kleancolor polishes, but it wasn't nearly that bad. I used two coats here. This polish is not available in their store right now, unfortunately.
Shleee Polish Black Moon

Royal Witch 3.0 is a blackened violet with red/pink/copper shimmer, and red microglitter. This was a surprise favorite for me, totally makes me think "witch" and I love it. Effortless formula, opaque in two coats. This is the third version of Royal Witch, hence the "3.0" in the title, in case you were wondering. I think this is a great way of keeping her popular shades in stock while still using small batches!

Shleee Polish is 5-free and handmixed. Their products are available for sale on their Etsy store and range in price from $7 - $13 per bottle. I purchased My Roanoke Nightmare for $12. They put out new shades every Friday morning, so make sure to check out their Facebook page and Instagram to see swatches & previews of what's coming out each week! What do you think of these pretties? They certainly have put me in a proper Halloween mood! Hope your day is spooky spectacular!

Glam Polish Experiment 626 Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

Aloha friends! Today I am bringing you a new collection from Glam Polish called Experiment 626, inspired by the 2002 animated film Lilo & Stitch! If you haven't seen it, it's "the story of a small blue alien that is banished to Earth and adopted by a lonely Hawaiian girl who teaches him how to love." It's one of my favorite Disney movies, so cute and Stitch is adorable and hilarious. There are nine polishes in this collection and I have six of them to show you.

Nobody Gets Left Behind Or Forgotten is a subtle holographic pastel seafoam green with silvery pink shimmer and ultra holo glitter. My bottle cap had come loose on this so some of it leaked into the cap, which in turn exposed it to air so it ended up being a bit thick. But I'm almost positive yours won't be. I used two coats here. This dries a little dull so you'll want a shiny top coat to make it pop.
Glam Polish Nobody Gets Left Behind Or Forgotten

Evil Genius is a plum purple scattered holographic with glass flecks, multichrome shimmer that shifts from red to violet to blue, and ultra holo microglitter. This has a great formula, easy to apply and covers in two coats.
Glam Polish Evil Genius

I’m Sorry I Bit You and Pulled Your Hair... is a subtle holographic blush peachy pink with a strong gold shimmer and ultra holo glitter. This is the same type of polish as the green shade, but it's not thick at all which makes me think it's the leaky bottle that made my green that way. Applied great, opaque in two coats.
Glam Polish I’m Sorry I Bit You and Pulled Your Hair...

Stitch to The Rescue has a bright blue milky-jelly base with neon pink, light blue and silver ultra holo glitter. The silver glitter gets coated in the blue base and it all looks deep and complex, like jeweled rock or something, sooo pretty. This was a little thin but easy as pie to apply. This is two coats.
Glam Polish Stitch To The Rescue

Lilo You Lolo. is a sparkly sandy mix of glitters in holographic base. These shades go so well together, I am getting vibes of a colorful shells on the beach from this mix. Glam Polish has seriously cracked the code on perfect full coverage microglitters because all of the ones I've tried from them are perfection. This is two effortless coats. As with all glitters, you'll want a thick layer of top coat or two to get a smooth finish.
Glam Polish Lilo You Lolo.

Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride is a teal crelly scattered holographic filled with glass flecks and multiple sizes of holo glitter. Beautiful and excellent formula, super close to being a one coater but I did use two layers here.
Glam Polish Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride

The other three shades in the collection are: Experiment 626 - cerise intense holo with navy glass flecks; Model Citizen - white crelly holo with blue glass flecks and multiple sizes of silver holo glitter; and No More Caffeine For You - lime scattered holo with strong golden shimmer, glass flecks and a hint of ultra holo glitter.

This collection will be available this Friday, October 28th, at 2pm EDT USA on the Glam Polish website. They are priced at $11.50 each. This is a limited edition collection so there's no telling how long it will be sticking around for. What do you think of these colors?  Are you a Lilo & Stitch fan?

Potion Polish Fall 2016 Hoodies & Hayrides Collection Swatches & Review

I'm back with another fall/halloween-ish collection, this time from indie brand Potion Polish! The Hoodies & Hayrides collection for fall 2016 is a seven piece set featuring some shades from their last year's fall and Halloween collections, revamped with updated formulas. Let's have a look! And please stay tuned until the end of the post for a special surprise!

First Frost is a warm grey crelly with red/copper duochrome shimmer. This applied nicely, it was a bit sheer on the first coat, which necessitated three layers. I'm in love with this, reminds me of sunset on a grey, cloudy day.
Potion Polish First Frost

Costume Party is a witchy black jelly with purple shimmer and a pinch of green-gold glitter. This is a returning shade from last year's Halloween quartet. Sure to be a hit again, this is very Halloween-esque. I also needed three coats for this guy for full coverage.
Potion Polish Costume Party

Pumpkin All The Things is a smoldering red-orange holographic with a sprinkle of gold holo glitter added. This guy practically applied itself, such a great formula. Two coats.
Potion Polish Pumpkin All The Things

Dark Magic is an ultra vampy midnight purple packed with delicate holographic flakes. A more opaque jelly, this one covered in just two coats. I love that we're seeing more polishes made with holo flakes, which I am head over heels for!
Potion Polish Dark Magic

Harvest Moon is a multichrome that shifts between red, copper, gold and olive green and is packed with gold holo microglitter. Another excellent formula, opaque in two coats.
Potion Polish Harvest Moon

I included an indirect light shot to show how dramatically this one shifts.
Potion Polish Harvest Moon

Poltergeist Heist is another returning shade from last year's Halloween set, a violet purple jelly with iridescent orange and purple glitter, scattered holo and a blue/red shifty shimmer. I used my bottle from last year for this swatch, but I am told the new formula is better and opaque in 2-3 coats. I used three here.
Potion Polish Poltergeist Heist

Marvelous Maple is a rich autumnal gold holographic with gold glitter and gold micro flakes. This was super close to being opaque in two but I layered on one more. Great, easy to use formula.
Potion Polish Marvelous Maple

These are available now on the Potion Polish website for $10.00-$11.50 each. What do you think about this sparkly fall collection?

As a special treat, I wanted to give away two new bottles of Costume Party and Poltergeist Heist, as these are the colors from this collection that I already had last year's versions of. Please enter to win by filling out the form below. Ages 18 and up only, US only (sorry international folks!), ends on Oct. 17th. Please read all the rules and regulations before entering.

Win Potion Polish Costume Party & Poltergeist Heist!
Happy Friday and good luck!

Powder Perfect Halloween Duo 2016 Swatches & Review

Inspired by the three witch’s poem from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the Halloween duo from Australian indie brand Powder Perfect is ready for the season of the witch! These two new shades feature unusual color combinations that totally capture the Halloween spirit. Let's take a look!

Cauldron Bubble has a dark purpley almost-black base filled with multichromatic shimmer that shifts from purple to green and chameleon chrome flakies that flex in tones of copper/fuchsia/green. This was pretty sheer on the first coat, but it built up on itself really nicely. I did use three coats, but it was super close to being opaque in two. Dries a bit dull so you'll want a glossy top coat.
Powder Perfect Cauldron Bubble

Toil & Trouble has a murky olive green crème base with added pink iridescent flakies and gold holographic microglitter. I found this to be a bit runny so be sure not to overload your brush. I used two coats here for full opacity. A glossy top coat really brought this to life, it is just the type of shade I will be sporting the entire fall season!
Powder Perfect Toil & Trouble

The duo is available on the Powder Perfect website and their US site now for $13 AUD/USD each or $24 for the duo. Let me know what you think about these two polishes! Are you ready for October and Halloween? Because I sure am!
