OH, What A Year It's Been!
Today this Itty Bitty Blog is celebrating it's two year anniversary! What a year it's been! We've met so many amazing little kittens and found so many wonderful families to adopt them. Our community has grown bigger (it more than doubled over the past year) and stronger (so many friendships forged). We also joined together to raise almost 23 sqillion to help the homeless cats and kittens.
Thank you once again for all your love and support. I appreciate you all stopping by each day. I am thankful for all the comments you leave and the notes you send us. You're a lovely community, and I appreciate you all so much. Out of all the blogs out there,, I doubt there's a warmer bunch of followers.
Thank you for ALWAYS being there.
In honer of this blogiversary, I thought I would share some stats with you.
In the past year we fostered 32 kittens and placed them with 17 families.

Pettibone AND Davenport Cards Have Arrived! Hooray!!
Take a look up there in the right hand corner of the blog,,, see that,,yep,, that's right,,the brand-spanking-new sets of Davenport and Pettibone cards have arrived !!
The Pettibone Portrait Pack is a set of eight cards and includes a glamor shot of each of the glorious Pettibone kittens as well as two additional group shots.
The Darling Davenport set has a portrait of each kitten plus a bonus image of the tabby twins, Edward and Cecily.
Stop on by the IBKC Etsy Shop to take a gander and maybe pick up a set or two. A portion of each sale goes to the Tacoma/Pierce County Humane Society. It also helps buy kitty litter for The Livermores.

The Davenport Report
Well four kittens went in, but only two had their surgery. Only Chet and Inez had the itty bitty bits removed. Edward and Cecily had a slight (very slight, actually) fever, so they could operate on them. Rats! I was so hoping we could send all the kitties off to their new homes this weekend! I know their new families are so disappointed too.
I suppose I can reveal now who's going with who. Chet and Cecily are one pair, the other, Edward and Inez.
Chet and Inez are doing just fine. You'd never guess that had surgery yesterday, it's just business as usual for the two.

What a Day, What a Day...
Poor little Davenports had such a rough day yesterday. They had to go in for their shots, blood draws, and micro-chipping. Every one did very well. Chet got a little bit fussy, but no one else made a single peep. Nice job kittens.
As soon as we got home, all the Davenports, climbed up on the davenport, and took a big, long nap.

Hello, Goodbye
The Davenports are growing quickly. Now Chet, Inez and Orson are over two pounds. Edward is just under and little Cecily has a few ounces to go. Chet has always been a lot larger than all the others. I suspect he's not from the same litter. Besides the size difference, his personality is quite different too.
They did just get here. It's barely been two weeks, and it's almost time to go. In a way it's nice getting babies that are a little bit older. They aren't so frail, and you don't have to worry so much about whether or not they'll make it. The down side is that you don't get to keep them as long.
These guys came to us a little more skittish, and in need of more socialization, than any litter we've had before. It's been so interesting to see their daily improvements. They've turned into complete love bugs, and their fraidy-cat ways have completely faded away. Now they are generous with their purrs and quick to cuddle.
I'll try hard to get some group shots of the family. It's difficult to get them all together. They tend to pair off rather than pile up when it's time to settle down.
Tomorrow will be a big day for the babies. They've got to go to the HS for a round of shots, a blood draw, and micro-chipping. Once that's all done, we'll get them on the surgery schedule.
So yes, these guys are short-timers... don't' get too attached folks, we'll be saying goodbye to them soon.
