Engelen

Engelen
Popular taverna in the old town at Kornhamnstorg. I used to be a frequent guest here back in the day. Always a good place for live music. The name is an old spelling of angel. Many years ago there was a pharmacy here with that name, and the angel above the entrance dates back to that time.

Each to their own

Each to their own
Welcome to Haninge. That is what it says on a sign next to this property at Nordenskiölds väg at Vega in Haninge. There used to be another building here, but it was teared down earlier this year. I think that the municipality have plans for this area. This is very close to Vegastaden.

A glowing heart

Glowing heart Orange day
Two recent photos of the glowing heart at the Folksam building. It is an insurance company. They do this every Winter. It was orange for a week, because of Orange Day. And now it is pink. I took the top photo on a Monday afternoon when people were still working. The second photo is from a Sunday when the building is more or less empty. Both photos taken from the bike path on the Skanstull bridge while cycling home.

Glashuset
The curtain wall building at Katarinavägen on Södermalm in Stockholm. Designed by Jan Lunding in the 1970s. The lights are always on, btw. Renovated 20 years ago by BSK Arkitekter and Lunding.

Snooker anyone?

Biljardpalatset
Biljardplatset. A classic snooker place at St:Eriksgatan since 1963. They are open 363 days of the year. You can play all sorts of games here. They also serve food and drinks. And if you are a real nerd you can check out their live-streaming YouTube channel which I am yet to try. I used to play biljard, as we call it, but that was many years ago now. I remember a mishap with a friend's pool cue that cost me some money. Anyway I took this photo while out snapping evening photos so expect a few more in the coming days.

All Saints' Day

All Saints' Day
Skogskyrkogården yesterday afternoon. Thousands of people lighting candles at the graves, and also here at the meditation hill. I heard quite a lot of people complaining that they couldn't find the grave they were looking for in the November darkness.
