The club experienced success during the late 1800s, reaching the Scottish Cup quarter-finals twice and winning the regional Stirlingshire Cup for four successive seasons. The club won regional leagues such as the Midland League and Central Football Combination before election to the Scottish Football League in 1900, competing in Scotland's top-tier on two occasions in 1932–33 and 1963–64.
