Searching for exotic B meson decays with the CMS L1 track trigger / Evans, Jared A. (Cincinnati U.) ; Gandrakota, Abhijith (Rutgers U., Piscataway) ; Knapen, Simon (Princeton, Inst. Advanced Study ; CERN) ; Routray, Hardik (Rutgers U., Piscataway)
The CMS phase II track trigger may allow for a displaced dimuon vertex trigger with qualitatively lower $p_T$ thresholds than existing dimuon triggers. With this technique, we show that the CMS reach for exotic $B$-meson decays involving a displaced dimuon resonance, such as a light, Higgs-mixed scalar, can be competitive with that of LHCb and Belle II..

Expression of Interest for the CODEX-b Detector / Aielli, Giulio (INFN, Rome2 ; Rome U., Tor Vergata) ; Ben-Haim, Eli (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Cardarelli, Roberto (INFN, Rome2) ; Charles, Matthew John (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Cid Vidal, Xabier (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; Coco, Victor (CERN) ; Dey, Biplab (CCNU, Wuhan, Inst. Part. Phys.) ; Dumps, Raphael (CERN) ; Evans, Jared A. (Cincinnati U.) ; Gibbons, George (Birmingham U.) et al.
This document presents the physics case and ancillary studies for the proposed CODEX-b long-lived particle (LLP) detector, as well as for a smaller proof-of-concept demonstrator detector, CODEX-$\beta$, to be operated during Run 3 of the LHC. Our development of the CODEX-b physics case synthesizes `top-down' and `bottom-up' theoretical approaches, providing a detailed survey of both minimal and complete models featuring LLPs. [...]

Searching for long-lived particles beyond the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider / Alimena, Juliette (Ohio State U.) ; Beacham, James (Duke U.) ; Borsato, Martino (Heidelberg U.) ; Cheng, Yangyang (Cornell U., LNS) ; Cid Vidal, Xabier (Santiago de Compostela U.) ; Cottin, Giovanna (Adolfo Ibanez U. ; Chile U., Catolica ; Taiwan, Natl. Taiwan U.) ; De Roeck, Albert (CERN) ; Desai, Nishita (Tata Inst.) ; Curtin, David (Toronto U.) ; Evans, Jared A. (Cincinnati U.) et al.
Particles beyond the Standard Model (SM) can generically have lifetimes that are long compared to SM particles at the weak scale. When produced at experiments such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, these long-lived particles (LLPs) can decay far from the interaction vertex of the primary proton-proton collision. [...]

Explore the lifetime frontier with MATHUSLA / MATHUSLA Collaboration
The observation of long-lived particles at the LHC would reveal physics beyond the Standard Model, could account for the many open issues in our understanding of our universe, and conceivably point to a more complete theory of the fundamental interactions. Such long-lived particle signatures are fundamentally motivated and can appear in virtually every theoretical construct that address the Hierarchy Problem, Dark Matter, Neutrino Masses and the Baryon Asymmetry of the Universe. In this Letter of Intent we propose the construction of MATHUSLA (MAssive Timing Hodoscope for Ultra-Stable neutraL pArticles) [1], a dedicated large-volume displaced vertex detector (DV) for the HL-LHC on the surface above ATLAS or CMS. [...]

Long-Lived Particles at the Energy Frontier: The MATHUSLA Physics Case / Curtin, David (Toronto U.) ; Drewes, Marco (Louvain U., CP3) ; McCullough, Matthew (CERN) ; Meade, Patrick (YITP, Stony Brook) ; Mohapatra, Rabindra N. (Maryland U.) ; Shelton, Jessie (Illinois U., Urbana) ; Shuve, Brian (Harvey Mudd Coll. ; SLAC) ; Accomando, Elena (Southampton U.) ; Alpigiani, Cristiano (Washington U., Seattle) ; Antusch, Stefan (Basel U.) et al.
We examine the theoretical motivations for long-lived particle (LLP) signals at the LHC in a comprehensive survey of Standard Model (SM) extensions. LLPs are a common prediction of a wide range of theories that address unsolved fundamental mysteries such as naturalness, dark matter, baryogenesis and neutrino masses, and represent a natural and generic possibility for physics beyond the SM (BSM). Searches for heavy Higgs bosons in two-Higgs-doublet models and for $t→ch$ decay using multilepton and diphoton final states in $pp$ collisions at 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Searches are presented for heavy scalar ($\mathrm{H}$) and pseudoscalar ($\mathrm{A}$) Higgs bosons posited in the two doublet model (2HDM) extensions of the standard model (SM). These searches are based on a data sample of $\mathrm{p}\mathrm{p}$ collisions collected with the CMS experiment at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 8~\mathrm{TeV}$ and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $19.5~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. Searches for electroweak neutralino and chargino production in channels with Higgs, Z, and W bosons in pp collisions at 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Searches for supersymmetry (SUSY) are presented based on the electroweak pair production of neutralinos and charginos, leading to decay channels with Higgs, Z, and W bosons and undetected lightest SUSY particles (LSPs). The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of about 19.5 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV collected in 2012 with the CMS detector at the LHC. Search for anomalous production of events with three or more leptons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search for physics beyond the standard model in events with at least three leptons is presented. The data sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 inverse femtobarns of proton-proton collisions with center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV, was collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC during 2012.
