/ Vega Cid, Lorena (CERN) ; Atieh, Said (CERN) ; Ferreira, Leonel (CERN) ; Laín-Amador, Lucia (CERN) ; Leith, Stewart (CERN) ; Pereira Carlos, Carlota (CERN) ; Rosaz, Guillaume (CERN) ; Scibor, Karol (CERN) ; Venturini Delsolaro, Walter (CERN) ; Vidal García, Pablo (CERN ; Madrid, CIEMAT)
A necessary condition for high SRF performances in thin film coated cavities is the absence of substrate defects. For instance, in the past, defects originated around electron beam welds in high magnetic field areas have been shown to be the cause of performance limitations in Nb/Cu cavities. [...]

CERN Based $T_{c}$ Measurement Station for Thin-Film Coated Copper Samples and Results on Related Studies
/ Fonnesu, Dorothea (CERN ; Siegen U.) ; Bremer, Johan (CERN) ; Koettig, Torsten (CERN) ; Laín-Amador, Lucia (CERN) ; Pereira Carlos, Carlota (CERN) ; Rosaz, Guillaume (CERN) ; Vaaranta, Antti (Helsinki U.)
In the framework of the Future Circular Collider (FCC) Study, the development of thin-film coated superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) cavities capable of providing higher accelerating fields (10 to 20 MV/m against 5 MV/m of LHC) represents a major challenge. The development of a test stand commissioned at CERN for the inductive measurement of the critical temperature (T$_{c}$c) of SC thin-film deposited on copper samples for SRF application is presented in this work. Thickness effect on superconducting properties of niobium films for radio-frequency cavity applications
/ Bianchi, Antonio (INFN, Milan) ; Bonura, Marco (U. Geneva (main)) ; Carlos, Carlota P.A. (U. Geneva (main) ; CERN) ; Leith, Stewart (CERN) ; Rosaz, Guillaume (CERN) ; Senatore, Carmine (U. Geneva (main)) ; Venturini Delsolaro, Walter (CERN)
Niobium-coated copper radio-frequency cavities are cost-effective alternatives to bulk niobium cavities, given the lower material costs of copper substrates and their operation in liquid helium at around 4.2 K. However, these cavities historically exhibited a gradual degradation in performance with the accelerating field. [...]

HiPIMS deposition of superconducting Nb thin films onto Cu substrates
/ Leith, S (Siegen U. ; CERN) ; Qiao, J (Siegen U.) ; Vogel, M (Siegen U.) ; Seiler, E (Kosice, IEF) ; Ries, R (Kosice, IEF) ; Li, Y (Siegen U.) ; Wiktor, C (Siegen U.) ; Mueller, J (Siegen U.) ; Sakalli, Y (Siegen U.) ; Butz, B (Siegen U.) et al.
The use of energetic condensation techniques, such as HiPIMS, has the potential to significantly improve the superconducting performance of coated Cu cavities by producing bulk-like Nb thin films. However, in order to benefit from these techniques, a deeper understanding of the effects of, and the relationship between, the different deposition parameters, the physical properties of the deposited films and the superconducting performance of the films, is still required.
