London) ; Christensen, Christian Holm (Bohr Inst.) ; Corpe, Louie (Imperial Coll., London) ; Grellscheid, David (Bergen U.) ; Grosse-Oetringhaus, Jan Fiete (CERN) ; Gutschow, Christian (University Coll. First released in 2010, the Rivet library forms an important repository for analysis code, facilitating comparisons between measurements of the final state in particle collisions and theoretical calculations of those final states. We give an overview of Rivet's current design and implementation, its uptake for analysis preservation and physics results, and summarise recent developments including propagation of MC systematic-uncertainty weights, heavy-ion and $ep$ physics, and systems for detector emulation. A standard convention for particle-level Monte Carlo event-variation weights
/ Bothmann, Enrico (Gottingen U.) ; Buckley, Andy (Glasgow U.) ; Gütschow, Christian (University Coll. London) ; Prestel, Stefan (Lund U.) ; Schönherr, Marek (Durham U., IPPP) ; Skands, Peter (Monash U.) ; Andersen, Jeppe R. (Durham U., IPPP) ; Bhattacharya, Saptaparna (Northwestern U.) ; Butterworth, Jonathan Mark (University Coll. London) ; Chahal, Gurpreet Singh (Durham U., IPPP) et al.
Streams of event weights in particle-level Monte Carlo event generators are a convenient and immensely CPU-efficient approach to express systematic uncertainties in phenomenology calculations, providing systematic variations on the nominal prediction within a single event sample. But the lack of a common standard for labelling these variation streams across different tools has proven to be a major limitation for event-processing tools and analysers alike. [...]

Phys.) ; Bona, Marcella (Queen Mary, U. of London) ; Boveia, Antonio (Ohio State U.) ; Caron, Sascha (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Davies, Joe (Queen Mary, U. of London) ; de Simone, Andrea (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Doglioni, Caterina (Lund U.) ; Duarte, Javier (UC, San Diego) ; Farbin, Amir (Texas U., Arlington) et al.
We describe the outcome of a data challenge conducted as part of the Dark Machines Initiative and the Les Houches 2019 workshop on Physics at TeV colliders. The challenged aims at detecting signals of new physics at the LHC using unsupervised machine learning algorithms. [...]

Publishing statistical models: Getting the most out of particle physics experiments
/ Cranmer, Kyle (New York U.) ; Kraml, Sabine (LPSC, Grenoble) ; Prosper, Harrison B. (Florida State U.) ; Bechtle, Philip (Bonn U.) ; Bernlochner, Florian U. (Bonn U.) ; Bloch, Itay M. (Tel Aviv U. The statistical models used to derive the results of experimental analyses are of incredible scientific value and are essential information for analysis preservation and reuse. In this paper, we make the scientific case for systematically publishing the full statistical models and discuss the technical developments that make this practical. [...]

Precise predictions for boosted Higgs production

Inclusive Higgs boson production at large transverse momentum is induced by different production channels. We focus on the leading production through gluon fusion, and perform a consistent combination of the state of the art calculations obtained in the infinite-top-mass effective theory at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) and in the full Standard Model (SM) at next-to-leading order (NLO). Sterile Neutrinos as Dark Matter Candidates
/ Kopp, Joachim (CERN ; Mainz U.)
In these brief lecture notes, we introduce sterile neutrinos as dark matter candidates. We discuss in particular their production via oscillations, their radiative decay, as well as possible observational signatures and constraints..
