Flavoured $B-L$ Local Symmetry and Anomalous Rare $B$ Decays / Alonso, Rodrigo (CERN) ; Cox, Peter (Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Han, Chengcheng (Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Yanagida, Tsutomu T. (Tokyo U., IPMU)
We consider a flavoured $B-L$ gauge symmetry under which only the third generation fermions are charged. Such a symmetry can survive at low energies (~TeV) while still allowing for two superheavy right-handed neutrinos, consistent with neutrino masses via see-saw and leptogenesis. [...]

Anomaly-free local horizontal symmetry and anomaly-full rare B-decays / Alonso, Rodrigo (CERN) ; Cox, Peter (Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Han, Chengcheng (Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Yanagida, Tsutomu T. (Tokyo U., IPMU ; Hamamatsu U.)
The largest global symmetry that can be made local in the Standard Model + 3$\nu_R$ while being compatible with Pati-Salam unification is $SU(3)_H\times U(1)_{B-L}$. The gauge bosons of this theory would induce flavour effects involving both quarks and leptons, and are a potential candidate to explain the recent reports of lepton universality violation in rare B meson decays. From Swampland to Phenomenology and Back / Yamazaki, Masahito (Tokyo U., IPMU)
Swampland conjectures are a set of proposed necessary conditions for a low-energy effective field theory to have a UV completion inside a theory of quantum gravity. Swampland conjectures have interesting phenomenological consequences, and conversely phenomenological considerations are useful guidelines in sharping our understanding of quantum gravity..

NANOGrav results and LIGO-Virgo primordial black holes in axion-like curvaton model / Inomata, Keisuke (Chicago U., KICP) ; Kawasaki, Masahiro (Tokyo U., ICRR ; Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Mukaida, Kyohei (CERN ; DESY) ; Yanagida, Tsutomu T. (Tsung-Dao Lee Inst., Shanghai ; Shanghai Jiao Tong U. ; Tokyo U., IPMU)
We discuss a possible connection between the recent NANOGrav results and the primordial black holes (PBHs) for the LIGO-Virgo events. In particular, we focus on the axion-like curvaton model, which provides a sizable amount of PBHs and GWs induced by scalar perturbations around the NANOGrav frequency range. [...]

Fireball baryogenesis from early structure formation due to Yukawa forces / Flores, Marcos M. (UCLA) ; Kusenko, Alexander (UCLA ; Tokyo U., IPMU ; CERN) ; Pearce, Lauren (Penn State U.) ; White, Graham (Tokyo U., IPMU)
We show that viable electroweak baryogenesis can be realized without a first-order phase transition if plasma is heated inhomogeneously by nongravitational structure formation in some particle species. Yukawa interactions can mediate relatively long-range attractive forces in the early Universe. [...]

Neutron tagging following atmospheric neutrino events in a water Cherenkov detector / Super-Kamiokande Collaboration
We present the development of neutron-tagging techniques in Super-Kamiokande IV using a neural network analysis. The detection efficiency of neutron capture on hydrogen is estimated to be 26%, with a mis-tag rate of 0.016 per neutrino event. [...]

Axion induced SUSY breaking and focus point gaugino mediation / Harigaya, Keisuke (LBNL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley ; CERN) ; Yanagida, Tsutomu T. (Tsung-Dao Lee Inst., Shanghai ; Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Yokozaki, Norimi (Hangzhou, Zhejiang U. ; Tohoku U.)
We consider a scenario where the supersymmetry breaking and its mediation, and the cancellation of the theta parameter of SU(3)c are all caused by a single chiral multiplet. The string axion multiplet is a natural candidate of such a single superfield. [...]

In this note, we give a definitive basis for the dimension-eight operators leading to quartic - but no cubic - interactions among electroweak gauge bosons. These are often called anomalous quartic gauge couplings, or aQGCs. [...]

Magnetogenesis from early structure formation due to Yukawa forces / Durrer, Ruth (Geneva U.) ; Kusenko, Alexander (UCLA ; Tokyo U., IPMU ; CERN)
Yukawa interactions can mediate relatively long-range attractive forces between fermions in the early universe. Such a globally attractive interaction creates an instability that can result in the growth of structure in the affected species even during the radiation dominated era. [...]

Gravitational waves from rapid structure formation on microscopic scales before matter-radiation equality / Flores, Marcos M. (UCLA) ; Kusenko, Alexander (UCLA ; Tokyo U., IPMU ; CERN) ; Sasaki, Misao (Tokyo U., IPMU ; Kyoto U., Yukawa Inst., Kyoto ; Taiwan, Natl. Taiwan U.)
The existence of scalar fields can be probed by observations of stochastic gravitational waves. Scalar fields mediate attractive forces, usually stronger than gravity, on the length scales shorter than their Compton wavelengths, which can be non-negligible in the early Universe, when the horizon size is small.
