Comparison of Two Detector Magnetic Systems for the Future Circular Hadron-Hadron Collider / Klyukhin, Vyacheslav (SINP, Moscow ; CERN) ; Ball, Austin (CERN) ; Berriaud, Christophe Paul (IRFU, Saclay) ; Curé, Benoit (CERN) ; Dudarev, Alexey (CERN) ; Gaddi, Andrea (CERN) ; Gerwig, Hubert (CERN) ; Hervé, Alain (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Mentink, Matthias (CERN) ; Riegler, Werner (CERN) et al.
The conceptual design study of a Future Circular hadron-hadron Collider (FCC-hh) to be con-structed at CERN with a center-of-mass energy of the order of 100 TeV requires superconducting magnetic systems with a central magnetic flux density of an order of 4 T for the experimental detectors. The developed concept of the FCC-hh detector involves the use of an iron-free magnetic system consisting of three superconducting solenoids. [...]

Timing Performance of a Micro-Channel-Plate Photomultiplier Tube / Bortfeldt, Jonathan (CERN) ; Brunbauer, F. (CERN) ; David, C. (CERN) ; Desforge, D. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Fanourakis, G. (Democritos Nucl. Res. Ctr.) ; Gallinaro, M. (LIP, Lisbon) ; Garcıa, F. (Helsinki U.) ; Giomataris, I. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Gustavsson, T. (LIDYL, Saclay) ; Guyot, C. (IRFU, Saclay) et al.
The spatial dependence of the timing performance of the R3809U-50 Micro-Channel-Plate PMT (MCP-PMT) by Hamamatsu was studied in high energy muon beams. Particle position information is provided by a GEM tracker telescope, while timing is measured relative to a second MCP-PMT, identical in construction. [...]

A new technique to establish the uniformity of the induction gap in GEM based detectors / Gola, Mohit (Delhi U.) ; Brunbauer, F. (CERN) ; Janssens, D. (CERN) ; Kumar, A. (Delhi U.) ; Lisowska, M. (CERN) ; Muller, H. (CERN ; Bonn U.) ; Naimuddin, Md. (Delhi U.) ; Oliveri, E. (CERN) ; Pfeiffer, D. (CERN ; ESS, Lund) ; Ropelewski, L. (CERN) et al.
This work is proposing and exploring the use of multichannel readout electronics, already used in quality assurance for gain uniformity studies, to measure the uniformity of the induction gap in GEM based detectors. The measurement will furthermore provide a qualification of the readout electrodes in terms of disconnected or shorted channels. [...]

Recent results with radiation-tolerant TowerJazz 180 nm MALTA sensors / LeBlanc, Matt (CERN) ; Allport, Phil (Birmingham U.) ; Asensi, Igancio (CERN) ; Berlea, Dumitru-Vlad (DESY, Zeuthen) ; Bortoletto, Daniela (Oxford U.) ; Buttar, Craig (Glasgow U.) ; Dachs, Florian (CERN) ; Dao, Valerio (CERN) ; Denizli, Haluk (Abant Izzet Baysal U.) ; Dobrijevic, Dominik (CERN ; Zagreb U.) et al.
To achieve the physics goals of future colliders, it is necessary to develop novel, radiation-hard silicon sensors for their tracking detectors. We target the replacement of hybrid pixel detectors with Depleted Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (DMAPS) that are radiation-hard, monolithic CMOS sensors. [...]

The UA9 setup, installed in the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) at CERN, was exploited for a proof of principle of the double-crystal scenario, proposed to measure the electric and the magnetic moments of short-lived baryons in a high-energy hadron collider, such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Linear and angular actuators were used to position the crystals and establish the required beam configuration. [...]
