We compute the supersymmetric contribution to R_{b}\equiv \Gamma (Z\to b{\bar b})/\Gamma (Z\to {\rm hadrons}) in a variety of supersymmetric models. In the context of supergravity models with universal soft-supersymmetry-breaking and radiative electroweak breaking we find R^{\rm susy}_b\lsim0.0004, which does not shift significantly the Standard Model prediction (R^{\rm SM}_b=0.2157 for m_t=175\GeV; R^{\rm exp}_b=0.2204\pm0.0020). New constraints on supergravity models from b --> s$\gamma$
/ Lopez, Jorge L. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN) ; Wang, Xu (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Zichichi, A. (CERN)
We perform a detailed study of the constraints from $b\to s\gamma$ on a large class of supergravity models, including generic four-parameter supergravity models, the minimal $SU(5)$ supergravity model, and $SU(5)\times U(1)$ supergravity. For each point in the parameter spaces of these models we obtain a range of $B(b\to s\gamma)$ values which should conservatively account for the unknown next-to-leading-order QCD corrections. [...]

Direct detection of dark matter in SU(5) x U(1) supergravity
/ Wang, Xu (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Lopez, Jorge L. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN)
We compute the scattering rates for the lightest neutralino $\chi~0_1$ in the forthcoming germanium $(~{73}{\rm Ge}+~{76}{\rm Ge})$ detector and a proposed lead detector $(~{207}{\rm Pb})$, within the framework of $SU(5)\times U(1)$ supergravity. We find that in only a small portion ($\lsim10\%$) of the parameter spaces of this class of models, are the rates in the germanium detector above the expected initial experimental sensitivity of 0.1 events/kg/day. The strongest experimental constraints on SU(5) x U(1) supergravity models
/ Lopez, Jorge L. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN) ; Park, Gye T. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Zichichi, A. (CERN)
We consider a class of well motivated string-inspired flipped $SU(5)$ supergravity models which include four supersymmetry breaking scenarios: no-scale, strict no-scale, dilaton, and special dilaton, such that only three parameters are needed to describe all new phenomena $(m_t,\tan\beta,m_{\tilde g})$. We show that the LEP precise measurements of the electroweak parameters in the form of the $\epsilon_1$ variable, and the CLEOII allowed range for $\bsg$ are at present the most important experimental constraints on this class of models. Experimental aspects of $SU(5) X U(1)$ supergravity

We study various aspects of $SU(5)\times U(1)$ supergravity as they relate to the experimental verification or falsification of this model. We consider two string-inspired, universal, one-parameter, no-scale soft-supersymmetry-breaking scenarios, driven by the $F$-terms of the moduli and dilaton fields. [...]

New precision electroweak tests of SU(5) x U(1) supergravity
/ Lopez, Jorge L. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN) ; Park, Gye T. (Texas A-M ; HARC, Woodlands) ; Zichichi, A. (CERN)
We explore the one-loop electroweak radiative corrections in $SU(5)\times U(1)$ supergravity via explicit calculation of vacuum-polarization and vertex-correction contributions to the $\epsilon_1$ and $\epsilon_b$ parameters. Experimentally, these parameters are obtained from a global fit to the set of observables $\Gamma_{l}, \Gamma_{b}, A^{l}_{FB}$, and $M_W/M_Z$. [...]
