The LHCb Vertex Locator (VELO) is a silicon strip detector designed to reconstruct charged particle trajectories and vertices produced at the LHCb interaction region. During the first two years of data collection, the 84 VELO sensors have been exposed to a range of fluences up to a maximum value of approximately $\rm{45 \times 10^{12}\,1\,MeV}$ neutron equivalent ($\rm{1\,MeV\,n_{eq}}$). Measurement of thermal properties of the LHCb VELO detector using track-based software alignment / LHCb VELO Collaboration
The thermal properties of the LHCb Vertex Locator (VELO) are studied using the real-time detector alignment procedure. The variation of the position and orientation of the detector elements as a function of the operating temperature of the VELO is presented. [...]

Phase I Upgrade of the Readout System of the Vertex Detector at the LHCb Experiment / Prieto, Antonio Fernández (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; Vázquez Regueiro, Pablo (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; Hennessy, Karol (Liverpool U.) ; Buytaert, Jan (CERN) ; van Beuzekom, Martin (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Lemos Cid, Edgar (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; Eklund, Lars (Glasgow U.) ; de Bruyn, Kristof (CERN) ; Naik, Sneha (Glasgow U.) ; Schiller, Manuel (Glasgow U.) et al.
This article describes the high-speed system designed to meet the challenging requirements for the readout of the new pixel VErtex LOcator (VELO) of the upgraded LHCb experiment. All elements of the electronics readout chain will be renewed to cope with the requirement of ~40-MHz full-event readout rate. [...]

Measurements of sensor radiation damage in the ATLAS inner detector using leakage currents / ATLAS Collaboration
Non-ionizing energy loss causes bulk damage to the silicon sensors of the ATLAS pixel and strip detectors. This damage has important implications for data-taking operations, charged-particle track reconstruction, detector simulations, and physics analysis. [...]

Probing the nature of the $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ state using radiative decays / LHCb Collaboration
The radiative decays $\chi_{c1}(3872)\rightarrow \psi(2S)\gamma$ and $\chi_{c1}(3872)\rightarrow J/\psi\gamma$ are used to probe the nature of the $\chi_{c1}(3872)$ state using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9fb$^{-1}$. Using the $B^+ \rightarrow \chi_{c1}(3872)K^+$ decay, the $\chi_{c1}(3872)\rightarrow \psi(2S)\gamma$ process is observed for the~first time and the ratio of its partial width to that of the $\chi_{c1}(3872)\rightarrow J/\psi\gamma$ decay is measured to be $$ \frac{\Gamma_{\chi_{c1}(3872)\rightarrow \psi(2S)\gamma}} {\Gamma_{\chi_{c1}(3872)\rightarrow J\psi\gamma}} = 1.67 \pm 0.21 \pm 0.12 \pm0.04, $$ where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third is due to the uncertainties on the branching fractions of the $\psi(2S)$ and $J/\psi$ mesons.
