Operation and Performance of the ATLAS Muon Spectrometer Databases during 2011-12 Data Taking / Verducci, Monica (Washington U., Seattle)
The size and complexity of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, including its Muon Spectrometer, raise unprecedented challenges in terms of operation, software model and data management. One of the challenging tasks is the storage of non-event data produced by the calibration and alignment stream processes and by online and offline monitoring frameworks, which can unveil problems in the detector hardware and in the data processing chain. Identification and energy calibration of hadronically decaying tau leptons with the ATLAS experiment in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=8 TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper describes the trigger and offline reconstruction, identification and energy calibration algorithms for hadronic decays of tau leptons employed for the data collected from $pp$ collisions in 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV. The performance of these algorithms is measured in most cases with Z decays to tau leptons using the full 2012 dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb$^{-1}$. [...]
