Machine Induced Backgrounds in the FCC-ee MDI Region and Beamstrahlung Radiation
/ Ciarma, Andrea (CERN) ; Boscolo, Manuela (Frascati) ; Ganis, Gerardo (CERN) ; Perez, Emmanuelle (CERN)
The new design for the central chamber of the FCC-ee beam pipe has a reduced radius of R=10mm and length of L=18cm, allowing to have the inner layer of the Vertex Detector Barrel closer to the interaction point. The effect of the background induced occupancy due to Incoherent Pairs Creation (IPC), beam losses in the MDI area and Synchrotron Radiation are explored for the CLD detector, using the updated version of the Vertex Detector for the new central beam pipe. Tracking Simulation for Beam Loss Studies with Application to FCC
/ Boscolo, M (Frascati) ; Burkhardt, H (CERN)
We present first results on FCC-ee beam losses using a tracking simulation tool originally developed and successfully applied to Flav or Factories designs. After a brief description of the tool, we discuss first results obtained for FCC-ee at top energy, both for the Touschek effect and radiative Bhabha scattering..

A preliminary study on machine induced backgrounds has been performed for the proposed FCC-ee interaction region (IR) and proto-detector. Synchrotron radiation has the strongest impact on the present design of the IR and both radiation from dipoles and quadrupoles have been taken into account. [...]

The Future Circular Collider (FCC) study foresees the construction of a 90.7 km underground ring where, as a first stage, a high-luminosity electron-positron collider (FCC-ee) is envisaged, operating at beam energies from 45.6 GeV (Z pole) to 182.5 GeV (ttbar). In the FCC-ee experimental interaction regions, various physical processes give rise to particle showers that can be detrimental to machine components as well as equipment in the tunnel, such as cables and electronics. The Future Circular Collider electron-positron (FCC-ee) is a proposed high-energy lepton collider that aims to reach unprecedented precision in the measurements of fundamental particles. Several beam related processes produce particles in the Machine-Detector Interface (MDI) region, which can adversely affect the measurements’ accuracy. [...]
