Open charm enhancement by secondary interactions in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions? / Cassing, W ; Kondratyuk, L A ; Lykasov, G I ; Rzjanin, M V
We calculate open charm production in $Pb+Pb$ reactions at SPS energies within the HSD transport approach - which is based on string, quark, diquark ($q, \bar{q}, qq, \bar{q}\bar{q}$) and hadronic degrees of freedom - including the production of open charm pairs from secondary 'meson'-'baryon' (or quark-diquark and antiquark-diquark) collisions. It is argued that at collision energies close to the $c\bar{c}$ pair threshold the dominant production mechanism is related to the two body (or quasi two body) reactions $\pi N \to \bar{D} (\bar{D^*}) \Lambda_c, (\Sigma_c)$. A unique parametrization of the shapes of secondary dilepton spectra observed in central heavy-ion collisions at CERN-SPS energies / Gallmeister, K. (Forschungszentrum Dresden Rossendorf) ; Kampfer, Burkhard (Forschungszentrum Dresden Rossendorf) ; Pavlenko, O.P. (Forschungszentrum Dresden Rossendorf ; BITP, Kiev) ; Gale, Charles (McGill U.)
A unique parametrization of secondary (thermal) dilepton yields in heavy-ion experiments at CERN-SPS is proposed. This parametrization resembles a thermal $q \bar q$ annihilation rate. [...]

NA50 results on Pb-Pb interactions at 158 GeV per nucleon / Jouan, D (CNRS)
We present a set of results obtained by experiment NA50 at the CERN SPS. In Pb-Pb collisions, the phi meson yield and the muon pair mass continuum in the invariant mass range (1.5-2.5 GeV/c/sup 2/) exhibit a significant enhancement which increases with the centrality of the collision. [...]

Open and hidden charm production in dA collisions at RHIC and LHC / Vogt, R (Lawrence Berkeley Nat. Lab., CA, USA)
We discuss aspects of open and hidden charm production in deuterium- nucleus collisions at RHIC and LHC energies. We describe calculations of the total ccmacron cross section and the charm quark transverse momentum distributions. [...]

$J/\psi$ production in relativistic A+A collisions / Gorenstein, M I (Bogolyubov Inst for Theor Phys, Kiev, Ukraine)
A recently developed statistical model of the J/ psi production is presented. The NA50 data on the J/ psi yields and the transverse mass spectra in Pb+Pb collisions at the SPS are analyzed. [...]

J/$\psi$ and $\phi$ production from proton to Pb induced reactions at CERN SPS / Jouan, D (Univ de Paris-Sud, Orsay, France)
A new set of results obtained by the NA50 experiment for the $J/\psi$ production at the CERN SPS is presented. Peripheral Pb-Pb collisions benefit from an improved setup, confirming the departure from ordinary production observed for the most central collisions, which has suggested the occurrence of a quark-gluon plasma formation. Charmonia and open charm production in heavy ion collisions / Gonin, Michel (Lab Leprince-Ringuet, École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France)
The production of heavy flavours in heavy ion collisions has been of great interest since the prediction of Matsui and Satz regarding quarkonium suppression in the quark gluon plasma due to color screening mechanisms. The NA50 collaboration has produced the first charmonia measurements in heavy ion collisions which show evidence for strong and anomalous suppressions in central Pb-Pb collisions. [...]
